You can live a positive life. Because it is not about material things. It is not about college degrees. It is not about where you live, or what you do for a living. It is not. It is more than that.
A positive life doesn't mean a problem-free life. People living positive lives have problems, but they deal with their problems better than the rest of us. They know what to worry about. They also know what not to worry about. They worry less, but focus more.
When it comes to living a positive life, it is all about living in the moment. It is all about finding love in what you are doing. It is all about finding love in the little things. It is all about enjoying what you have. It is all about focusing on what you have, not on what you do not have. It is all about turning problems into opportunities. It is all about using what you have to get what you do not have. It is all about keeping a positive outlook in the face of problems.
When you are down, when you are not happy, instead of beating yourself up, try to think of things that make you feel good about yourself. They are out there. But to attact positive things into your life, you must think positive thoughts.
To make today count, you must live it. And if you do not live it, if you do not choose yourself, you will lose it.
To make today count, try these four strategies:
“Put your whole heart into the present”
James Allen said, “Put your whole heart into the present, living it, minute by minute, hour by hour, and day by day, self-governed and pure.” If you really want to make today count, you must stay in the present moment.
Choose yourself
Chogyam Trungpa once said, “Unless we are able to make friends with ourselves, there is no hope at all. If we abandon ourselves as hopeless, as villains, then there is no steppingstone.” To know yourself, you must embrace yourself. Do not reject yourself, no matter what. Even if others don’t like you, if you are for yourself, no one can be against you.
Stay away from negative people.
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always o that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”- Mark Twain
“Face a situation fearlessly“
Florence Scovel Shinn said, “Face a situation fearlessly, and there is no situation to face; it falls away of its own weight.” If you do not believe in your own self, if you cannot face life, consider what you are doing to yourself. You are limiting yourself. Because you do not have the courage to face life, to face your fears.
