This Is The Most Difficult Thing To Be

Why are you living other people’s dreams? Why are you trying to be who you are not? C’mon, no matter what is going on in your life, you have a lot going well for you. Why not focus on what is going well for you? Why not use the time you have on earth to make a difference?

“The most difficult thing to be is what other people want you to be.”- Leo Buscaglia

In my opinion, that is better than wasting it on worthless things. If you don’t get what you want, be patient. Sometimes it takes time to discover the genius within you. When things are not working, be patient with yourself. Do not beat yourself up. Do not criticize yourself. When life is not treating you fairly, do not give up. Giving up on your dreams means you are giving up on yourself.

“The easiest thing to be in the world is you.”- Leo Buscaglia

You don’t want to do anything anymore. You are saying to yourself, ‘I am done!” Good or bad, do not quit. Keep going, keep learning, and keep loving your life.

The key to success is honesty. It attracts other like-minded people into your life. It takes courage to represent yourself. Martha Beck says, “No matter how difficult and painful it may be, nothing sounds as good to the soul as the truth.”

Truth is freedom. And freedom is responsibility. Truth is peace. And peace is a creator. Truth is responsibility. And responsibility is freedom. When you are responsible, you are free. According to Paulo Coelho, “Freedom is not the absence of commitments, but the ability to choose – and commit myself to- what is best for me.” You have a lot of ‘what is best’ for you. No matter what is going on in your life, look for the positive things in your life and focus on them.

This Is Your Only Obligation On This Earth

Can you touch yourself? Can you touch other people? Do you know who you really are? Are you comfortable with yourself? If you are not, why? Do you know? Maybe, maybe not.

Whether you know why you are here or not, one thing is clear: you are here for a reason. You are here to write your own statement, to write your own book (one page at a time), to live your life on your own terms, to challenge the status quo, to change things, to touch people.

To touch others, you must first touch yourself. You must be comfortable with yourself. Anne Morrow Lindbergh said, “When one is a stranger to oneself then one is estranged from others too. If one is out of touch with oneself, then one cannot touch others.” Before you can do, you must first be.

“The most exhausting thing in life is being insincere.”- Anne Morrow Lindberg

If you are out of touch with yourself, you are out of touch with other people. You are out of touch with your inner self. And you are out of touch with the world around you. No matter how things are in your life, always be honest with yourself, especially your inner world, your inner life, your soul.

Richard Bach said, “Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself. Being true to anyone else or anything else is not impossible, but the mark of a fake messiah.”

Whether you are where you are supposed to be or not, you should never forget to be true to yourself. Whatever you are going through right now, if you are honest with yourself, if you are true to yourself, you can handle it.

Whether the day is dark or not, whether the road ahead is foggy or not, whether the sun is shinning or not, always be true to yourself. Always do what is right. Always focus on what is there, not what is not there.

That is your only obligation on this earth: to be true to yourself.
