Love is freedom. To love people is to give people freedom to live their lives.
Love cannot exist without freedom. Love is giving freedom to yourself, to other people.
Love is not taking freedom away from people. It is giving them freedom to fail, to love themselves, to make their own mistakes, to take their own risks.
Where there is no freedom, their is no love. Because love cannot exist where there is no freedom. So if you want to love yourself, give yourself freedom to love yourself. If you want other people to really show you true love, do not control them.
Love is not about control. Love is about losing control. In the words of Paulo Coelho, “To love is to lose control.” If you cannot lose control, you cannot love. Because love is not about control. It is about freedom.
James Allen said, “If men only understood that their hatred and resentment slays their peace and sweet contentment, hurts themselves, helps not another, does not cheer one lonely brother, they would seek the better doing of good deeds which leaves no ruing.”
It takes character to let go of resentment. Resentment does not hurt the other person. Resentment hurts you. It destroys your happiness. It hurts you. It takes your happiness away. But you can get yourself back.
Let resentment go. Don’t let resentment control you. You are better than resentment. You are better than hate. You are a child of Love. God loves you. No matter what you are going though in your life, do not complain. God is not a complainer. All you need to do is to focus on your life. Make peace with yourself. Because if you can’t make peace with yourself, you can’t make peace with others. And to make peace with yourself, with your soul, you must be in control of your life. Dale Carnegie said, “Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain- and most fools do. But it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving.” It takes character to be forgiving. What about you?
