How To Improve Your Life Every Day

Self-improvement is a process. It is not an event. It is a journey. To achieve it, be patient with yourself. It is not going to be easy, but it is not something that you cannot do. You can do it, only if you believe you can do it, if you have the courage to stretch yourself.

Remember that nothing happens without action. To improve yourself, to improve your life, action is key:

“Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody expects of you. Never excuse yourself.”- Henry Ward Beecher

Get outside yourself

James Allen said, “You must get outside yourself, and must begin to examine and understand yourself.” To move yourself forward is not going to be easy for you if you do not understand yourself. Self-understanding is the key to a positive life. If you don’t know who you are, what you want, and where you want to go, then it means you do not understand yourself. It is not enough to just do something. You must know why you are doing it. And you do not have to do what other people want you do to. Because doing what other people want you to do is never going to make you happy. “Get outside yourself.”

“Action creates reality.”- Robert Ringer

Keep doing

According to Gene C. Hayden, “Commitment is an essential part of a plan but it only gets you to the starting gate. And to get to where you want, you can’t afford to count on luck. You must be prepared to keep moving forward, even when you have no idea what may await you around the next corner.” It is good to have a great plan, but if you do not have the courage to take action, if you do not have the courage to face your fears, if you do not have the courage to silent your doubts, you are going to get stuck in a rut. If you want to convert your dream into an experience, you must take action.

Humility Is…

In their book, The Creativity Cure: A Do-It Yourself Prescription for Happiness, authors Carrie Barron and Alton Barron write,

“Humility is not assuming you know more than you do, or that you are grander than you might be. It is being at peace with the fact that you need to learn some things. …

Humility is about being your True Self, deficiencies included. Humility is acknowledgment of your True Self, admitting who you are and what you do and do not know.” Humility is being comfortable with yourself.

Do not separate yourself from your True Self. No matter what, stand up for yourself. And do not present who you are not. Because you are better than that.
