Growth Vs. Safety

“You will either step forward into growth, or you will step backward into safety.”- Abraham Maslow

Life is about growth. Everything in life is growing. If you are not growing, what are you doing? Check what you are doing on a daily basis. Because how you live your day is exactly how you are living your life. If you don’t like the results, change what you do everyday. If you like it, continue doing it.

Since growth is so important to us, why do so many of us prefer safety over growth?

That has everything to do with who we are as human beings. People don’t like to change what they are comfortable with. You don’t even like to leave your bed in the morning, let alone doing something that you haven’t done before. We love to do what we are comfortable with. But the problem is, the more we do that, the more we will remain where we are. So to move forward, you must pursue growth, not safety. Because:

Growth is uncomfortable. Safety is comfortable.

Growth involves stretching yourself. Safety involves maintaining what you already know.

Growth is scary. Safety is status quo.

Growth is movement. Safety is the opposite.

Growth is change. Safety is the opposite.

Growth is living. Safety is dying.

Growth is forward. Safety is backward.

If you want to achieve your dreams, growth is the way.

Why Is It Difficult To Accept Rejection

Rejection hurts. But the real rejection is self-rejection. If you don’t reject yourself, no one can reject you. Rejection happens within you.

You don’t fear rejection. You fear the problems after rejection. If you want to deal with that, you must first accept yourself. Without self- acceptance, you cannot fight or cope with the issues that come with rejection. According to Bo Bennett, “It is not rejection itself that people fear; it is the possible consequences of rejection.” If you want to build a great life, you must conquer the fear of rejection. You must be in love with yourself. Love conquers everything. If you feel rejected, love yourself even more. With love, rejection is meaningless. With love, your world is bigger than rejection.
