Your integrity is not what you say. It is not what you do. Your integrity is who you are. It is how you do what you do.

You can talk all you like. People don’t want to hear you. They want to see you in action. They are after what you can do, not what you can say.

People are after what you think about them, not about what you think about yourself.

Because we are too good at thinking about ourselves, but not about others.

But that is not how integrity works. Integrity is about trust. It is about respect. And it is about being you, no mattter where you are. Integrity is about taking care of yourself. It is also about treating other people with love and respect.

Above all, integrity is saying to other people, ‘trust me, I am who I am, no matter what.’

According to Iyanla Vanzant, ‘Integrity. The good in you coming out of you as a statement of who you know yourself to be. Integrity. The commitment to acting on what your heart feels and knowing your heart feels good about who you are and what you do in every situation. Integrity. The willingness to be diligent in giving your best, first to yourself and then to everyone else, knowing that every moment of contact with another being is a gift from God. Integrity. Yearning to know the truth. Seeking the truth. Learning the truth. Spreading the truth. Acting in truth for the sake of honoring truth for the good of everyone, including yourself. Integrity. Accepting all that is and choosing to live by all that honors you and honors God, without condemning the other parts. Integrity, not right or wrong.Your integrity is the power that records, rewards and restores your position in the universe of life.’

Are you one?

Being a good example is showing people what is possible. It means leading the way. It means going the way before you invite other people to join you.

It is about how you live your life. Being a good example is not about your success. It is about your failures.

You are a good example when people are willing to follow you, when you take care of people, when you don’t talk about yourself,when you don’t disrespect other people.

Being a good example is hard. It is very hard to do. That is why some of us don’t do it. But if you can do it, you will never regret it.

The question is, are you a good example? Are people willing to work with you? Are people comfortable when they are with you? Are people telling you things that they can’t tell other people? Do you love people? Are in it for you? Or are you in it for others? How do you treat people? Do you really care about people?

If you are, then you are a good example. Keep it going. Never stop being you. Because that is what being a good example truly means.

You are a good example when you do what you say you are going to do. You are a good example when you live your life with integrity, when you treat other people with love.

You are a good example when you love people, when you forgive other people, even when they don’t deserve it.

You are a good example when you show other people the way, when you work really hard to bring out the best in other people.

The best way to be a good example to others is to first be one to yourself. According to Rowland Hill, ‘We can do more good by being good than in any other way.’

The question is, ‘Are you doing more good?’
