Are You Comfortable In Your Own Skin?

I say, ‘Be YOU!’ Don’t try to be anything else! You are here for you, not for others. You know what is good for you. You know what you want, what is going on in your life, where you are hurting, what is hurting you, and how you plan to live your life.

The only way you can find happiness in your life is to be you. The second way you can find happiness in your life is to remember to be you. Nothing more, nothing less.

But the world will try to tell you something else. Do not fall for it. Do not do what they want. Do what makes you come alive. Follow your heart. Listen to what God wants you to do. Do not do what people say you should do. Instead, do what God says you should do. Why? Because He is your creator. He knows you better than others.

Because God knows what you want in your life. God knows where you are going. He knows what is going on in your life. He is aware of your struggles. And He has a mesage for you: ‘Do not give up!’

The reason most people are not happy is that they never stop comparing themselves to other people. Do not do what they are doing. Just because other people are doing it doesn’t make it right. It is wrong!

It is wrong because you do not know everything about them. They are presenting to you what they want you to see. What happens to the other side? The side they don’t want you to know: their flaws, mistakes, anger, jealousy, failures. What happens to them?

Before you go into depression, remember this: ‘No one is perfect. Everyone is hiding something.’

As always, you are more, not less!

What To Do When Things Go Wrong

Are you trying to control the world around you? Are you trying to control other people? Or are you trying to be perfect, to make everything perfect?

If you try, you are just planning to fail, not to succeed. Why is that? Because you are a human being. No matter how smart you are, you are not going to be able to make everything perfect. It won’t happen.

If you try to do it, you are just frustrating yourself. You are making yourself mad. You are not being nice to yourself. You are not being kind to yourself.

So when things go wrong, do not beat yourself up. Don’t say things like, ‘I am an idiot. I am not smart enough. Why me?’ When you say things like these to yourself, your brain is hearing you. And your brain will make them possible for you.

When things go wrong, remember that you are a human being, an imperfect being. Be nice to yourself. When you are nice to yourself, you say, ‘everything is going to be alright.’ You don’t beat yourself up. You don’t tear yourself down. You say positive things to yourself. You say, ‘I am not my mistakes. I am not my failures. I am a learner. I am not perfect.’

When you stay positive, when you look at your mistakes as learning chances, it makes them easier to manage. It focuses your attention on what you can do better next time. It stops you from reaping yourself apart. It stops you from being unkind to yourself. And it reminds you that it is okay to mess up.

Finally, when things go wrong, remind yourself that you are not a failure, that you are learning, still learning, that it is okay to mess up, and that you are not going to give up on yourself, no matter what.

As always, you are more, not less!
