“God Never Hurries.” Here Is Why?

A. W. Tozer said, “God never hurries. There are no deadlines against which he must work. Only to know this is to quiet our spirits and relax our nerves.”

Look, you can run all you like. You are not a machine. You are a human being. As a human being, you will do better if you have the courage to stop, relax, and think.

Productivity is not about running; it is about resting. You will perform better if you have the courage to rest. No matter what you are doing, take some time to relax, to reconnect with yourself.

If it is possible, strive for a balanced life. In his book The Art of Being: 101 Ways to Practice Purpose in Your Life, Dennis Merritt Jones writes, “Some people devote so much time to their work and making lots of money that they forget what it means to play, relax, and spend time with loved ones. Others play so much that they don’t know what it is to work.”

It does not matter what you do, do not choose your work over your life. Forget about the salary. If you die, the company will replace you with another person.

You are the best because you are alive. You are still useful. Yes, you love your work. Yes, you MUST love your life more than your work, no matter how powerful. Seek a balanced life. Dennis Merritt Jones was right when he said, “Living a balanced life will produce a life of wholeness and deep inner peace.” If you think living a balanced life is not enough for you, then ask yourself, “How free am I in my everyday life, really?”

4 Ways To Make Today Count

To make today count, you must live it. And if you do not live it, if you do not choose yourself, you will lose it.

To make today count, try these four strategies:

“Put your whole heart into the present”

James Allen said, “Put your whole heart into the present, living it, minute by minute, hour by hour, and day by day, self-governed and pure.” If you really want to make today count, you must stay in the present moment.

Choose yourself

Chogyam Trungpa once said, “Unless we are able to make friends with ourselves, there is no hope at all. If we abandon ourselves as hopeless, as villains, then there is no steppingstone.” To know yourself, you must embrace yourself. Do not reject yourself, no matter what. Even if others don’t like you, if you are for yourself, no one can be against you.

Stay away from negative people.

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always o that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”- Mark Twain

Face a situation fearlessly

Florence Scovel Shinn said, “Face a situation fearlessly, and there is no situation to face; it falls away of its own weight.” If you do not believe in your own self, if you cannot face life, consider what you are doing to yourself. You are limiting yourself. Because you do not have the courage to face life, to face your fears.

Remember, to defeat something, you must face it.
