All you have is this moment. No matter where you have been, what you done for yourself, where you are, where you are going, one thing is clear: Everything is happening in your life right now. All you have is now. All you will ever have is now. Why are you not enjoying it?

The value of life lies not in the length of days, but in the use we make of them…”- Michel de Montaigne

Because we live in the past, not in the present. We don’t live in the moment. We live in the future. We think where we are going is better than where we are. But the opposite is true. If you we have the courage to focus on where we are, we will do better in the future. Most people waste their lives by living in the past. No matter what may have happened to you in the past, don’t relive it. It is in the past. You are no longer living in the past. You are living in the present. Since living in the present is the only way forward, why not love it, why not live it, why not embrace it?

Whether you find satisfaction in life depends not on your tale of years, but on your will…”– Michel de Montaigne

If you want to go forward in your life, you must live in the moment. This moment is important. Don’t waste it. Live it. Enjoy it. Be thankful for having it. Philosopher Eckhart Tolle writes, “This one moment, now, is the only thing you can never escape from. The one constant factor in your life. No matter what happens. No matter how much your life changes. One thing is certain. It’s always now. Since there is no escape from the now, why not welcome it, become friendly with it.” The moment is always there. We live it everyday. So if we want to make it better, if we want to enjoy the moment, we must pay attention to it.

Accept Everything About Yourself

Self-acceptance is self-love. Self-love is the beginning of your life. It doesn’t matter what you have been through in your life. It doesn’t matter where you are now. What really matters is you. You matter. Your life matters. Your self-worth matters.

No matter what you may have been through, don’t let that define your life. Don’t let your past mistakes define you. Because you are not your mistakes. You are you. You are unique. You are smarter, better, stronger than your mistakes. Do not define your life by your mistakes, by your failures, or by your disappointments. Define your life by your successes. Define your life by what you have done right, by your victories.

Our lives are not without failures. Our lives are not without mistakes. Our lives are not without weaknesses. But you must accept them and and manage to live with them. Eric Hoffer famously said, “You must accept certain unlovely things about yourself- and manage to live with them. The atonement for such an acceptance is that you make allowances for others- that you cleanse yourself of the sin of self-righteousness.” He adds: “The end comes when we no longer talk with ourselves. It is the end of genuine thinking, and the beginning of the final loneliness.”

Do not let the opinions of other people to control your life. Do not listen to other people’s opinions. Listen to yourself. Listen to your inner self. Listen to your body. Listen to your soul. It doesn’t matter what people are saying about you. Focus on yourself. Focus on where you are going. Where you are going matters. Your actions matter. If you really want to achieve your purpose, you must listen to yourself. Can you do it?
