Please Yourself, Not Others

Live for yourself. Do for yourself. Be for yourself.

Give yourself permission to live your life. Give yourself permission to do whatever you want to do for yourself. Give yourself permission to pursue your dreams. Give yourself permission to take your own seat at the table. Give yourself permission to go to where you want to go. Don’t wait for anyone. Because no one is waiting for you. When it comes to your dreams, you are the leader. Others are just bystanders.

If you wait for people who are not interested in your dreams, in your journey, you are going to wait forever. Take charge of your life. Make yourself happy.

Don’t try to make other people happy. Because you can’t do it. You cannot make other people happy. They are responsible for their own happiness. You focus on what you are doing. Focus on what matters, not on what doesn’t matter to you.

Don’t try to be everywhere. Because you can’t. You won’t be able to do it. If you want peace, you must focus on what will bring peace to you. Don’t try to do too much. Don’t try to be there for everybody. Because it is not going to work. If you try to be there for everybody, it means you are not going to be there for yourself. You are not going to be able to take care of yourself.

Don’t do that to yourself. Your life is more than that. You are here to live, not to please people. To please other people, you must be there for you. If you are not there for you, no one is going to be there for you.

Life is too short, and if you are not living your life, then you are faking it. Don’t fake it. Live it. Don’t try to be who you are not. Don’t try to do too much just to please other people. If you do that, you are not being true to who you are.

When it comes to helping other people, the only thing you can do is to do your best. You can’t do more than your best. You can’t give what you do not have. I am not saying you should ignore people. That is not what I am saying. What I am saying is that you should never forget to put yourself first. Do for yourself first. Make yourself happy first. Live first. Then do for others. If not, you are not living for yourself; you are living for other people. You are pleasing other people, not yourself.
