How To Bring Out The Best In Yourself

If you don’t believe in yourself, who do you think is going to believe in you? If you don’t believe in your progress, who do you think is going to believe in it?

Whatever you want to do for yourself, you are the only one who can do it for yourself. Do not wait. Now is the time to get to work. And here is how:

Have a dream.

If you do not have a dream, what do you have? What are you doing to improve your life? Without a dream, you are not going to achieve anything. According to Oscar Hammerstein 11, ‘If you don’t have a dream, how are you going to make your dream come true.’ If you want to achieve your dream, then you must have one.

Mastery takes time.

You can succeed. You can move forward. And you can change yourself. But you have got to take your time. Do not rush through it. If you want to master yourself, you must be patient with yourself. Dan Rockwell said, ‘Mastery has degrees. You aren’t on the mountain top yet.’ Things get better with time. You will get better with time.

Be humble.

Who doesn’t want to work with a humble person? Who does not want to be led by a humble leader? We all want to be around humble people. Why is that? Because they are who they say they are. They don’t belittle people. They don’t defend themselves when they make mistakes. To put it simply, they are just real. And they are not afraid to admit it when they mess up.

Focus on the process.

You can get more done in your life when you don’t worry about where you are going. It doesn’t mean you are not thinking about your future. You are. But don’t let it take you away from what you are doing in the present.

When it comes to your future, where you are right now is very important. What you are doing right now is very important. If you do not take care of where you are right now, if you do not have the courage to live in the present, you are not going to get to where you are going.

In the words of Gina Mollicone- Long, ‘Results don’t come from somewhere else, somewhere ‘out there’. They come from us.’ If you want to get the best results, then you must do your best work.

Do not get too comfortable.

Dan Rockwell writes, ‘The fear of loss maintains the status quo.’ It is okay for you if that is what you want. If growth is what you are after, if life is what you are after, you have got to challenge yourself. You have got to face your fears. If you do not challenge yourself, your status quo, you will never grow.

4 Ways To Face Yourself

Life is bigger than you. If you want to know more about it, you must face it. And to face life, you must first face yourself.

To discover the world around you, to know what you don’t yet know about yourself, you must face your life. Stop living your life in fear. Fear is not responsible for your life. You are.

If you want to take charge of your life, you can. Here is how:

Be comfortable being uncomfortable.

Remember, according to Mary Case, ‘No pressure, no diamonds.’ Whatever you are going through right now, you are getting ready for your next work. What you are doing right now, whether you are enjoying it or not, you are preparing yourself for what is ahead of you. No matter how hard, keep going. Don’t stop!

Keep going.

Confucius once said that, ‘It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.’ If you do not settle for less than you are really worth, you are likely to succeed. If you don’t give up, if you just keep going, no matter what, success is likely to happen. Do not focus on your destination. Instead, focus on the process.

Focus on what you can change.

‘What is, is. What isn’t, isn’t.’ Life is not about what you can’t do. It is about what you can do. If change is what you want, then don’t focus on what you can’t change. If you focus your life on what isn’t, you are not going to get anything done. Save your time. Save your energy. Do not waste your time. Trying to change what you can’t change is not going to help you. So why do it?

Don’t cling to the past.

‘We all cling to the past and because we cling to the past, we become unavailable to the present.’- Unknown

Don’t give in to your past. Yes, it hard to do. No one can completely forget his or her past. If you can’t let go of your past, you are hurting yourself. You are not going to know what is happening around you. Remember that life doesn’t happen in the past. If you want to move forward, you must focus on what you are doing right now.
