Do you know the great secret of success? What does success mean to you?
It means different things to different people. If you really want to know what success means to you, look at what is important to you. Success is not about money. It is about life. It is about love. It is about your reputation. It is about your character. Success is not about you. It is about your legacy. It is about how you treat yourself. It is about how you treat other people.
Success is about living your life in your own way. It is about thinking for yourself. It is never about money. Remember that money cannot buy peace of mind. But if you have a great character, if you have been nice to people, if you have been living your values, you are a successful person
Success is about living your life. It is not about imitating other people. It is about being yourself. Success is about achieving your dreams. It is about getting to your final destination. Ingrid Bergman said, “Success is getting what you want.” It is about connecting with yourself. You are not successful if you don’t know who you. Albert Schweitzer said, “The great secret of success is to go through life as a man who never gets used up. That is possible for him who never argues and strives with men and facts, but in all experience retires upon himself, and looks for the ultimate cause of things in himself.” Success is about taking responsibility for your life, for your actions.
Success is about actions. It is about changing things. So if you want to be successful, you must take action to change your life. Remember, “actions cure boredom.”
Love brings love. Help brings help. If you want to get ahead in your life, if you want to grow, if you want to change your world, you must help other people change their lives. If you want people to help you, to do something for you, to give you love, to make you a better person, you must put people first.
People like to help other people. Human beings are good. It doesn’t matter how many times you have helped other people. Keep helping people. The world needs helpers. The world needs dreamers. You can’t do everything by yourself. You need a mentor. You need someone to show you the way to where you are going. Why is that? Because if you don’t know where you are going, you will arrive at the wrong destination.
And to get yourself back, you need someone who loves you. You need someone who can really tell you what you need to hear. You need someone who is not afraid to talk to you. You need to hear the truth. When it comes to your growth, you need to hear the truth from your mentor. Truth comes from love. Truth comes from acceptance.
If you want to grow, you need other people. You can’t do everything by yourself. You can do something, but you can’t do everything. And don’t even try to be everywhere. Because if you do, you are going to end up at the wrong place. And if you are nowhere, you will never grow. So if you want to become who you were created to be, you need to put people first. When you put people, they will put you first. No matter how small or big, always try to do something to lift people up. According to Claude M. Bristol, “Always try to do something for the other fellow and you will be agreeably surprised how things come your way- how many pleasing things are done for you.”
People don’t want material things; they just want someone to be there for them. They want love. They want someone who will love and accept them for who they are. They want people who will lift them up. They don’t want to hang out with someone who is always putting them down. They don’t want to be around someone who is abusive. From today, always try to do something positive every day. If you do, you will always attract positive things into your life.
