“Don’t compromise yourself- you’re all you have.”- John Grisham
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius-and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”- Marilyn Monroe
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Can you please everyone? The answer is “NO.” Can you make everyone happy? The answer, again, is “NO.” Can you make yourself happy? The answer is a big “Yes!” How? By controlling what you focus on. You must control your mind. Because whatever you focus your mind on will grow. So do not focus on negative things. If you do, they will grow. Focus on positive things. If you catch yourself allowing negative thoughts into your mind, immediately replace them with positive thoughts. Is it easy? No. But you can do it. Try it and see what happens.
You cannot please everyone. Sometimes, it is possible. Other times, not so much. The problem is if you try to please everyone, you are putting yourself under pressure. You are designing yourself for a big disappointment. You are ignoring your needs and wants. We are human beings, right? We all have wants and needs, right? Don’t we?
The answer to your trying to satisfy everyone is to learn how to live a “balanced life.” So, what is a balanced life? Living a balanced life means your ability to take care of your needs and the needs of others without exhausting yourself to death.
When people ask you for help, if you can do it, say yes. If you can’t, say no. Don’t be scared to tell people how you feel. Your life is what we are talking about here. Take care of your inside before your outside. If you take proper care of your inside, your outside will take care of itself. Don’t please people to ruin your own life. You are important. They are important. Everyone is important. If they love you, they will understand your point. If they don’t, let them go.
