Like it or not, you cannot grow in a place where you feel alone, where you are not appreciated, where your work is not celebrated. To get stuck in a place where you are not appreciated is to say to yourself, ‘I do not worth anything.’

Do not do that to yourself. Because you are more than what your boss is offering you. You are more than what you are accepting from people. When it comes to career growth, it is impossible to grow in a place where you are not valued, supported, seen, not appreciated, or promoted.

If you stay there, you are only wasting your time. Remember, you are doing what you are doing because you love yourself; you want to build a better future for yourself. You want to make a difference in the world. And you want to lift other people up.

It is impossible to help other people grow when you are not growing, when you are not adding value to your own life. Never accept what is below your potential. Never settle for what is below your potential. When you do that, you are betraying yourself. You are sending a clear message to the people around you that you do not know what you are worth, that you do not know what you want in your life. Because if you know what you want, you will know what to settle for.

If you do not want to belittled, devalued, treated badly, you must take care of yourself. It is important to your self-worth. Do not treat yourself badly. And do not allow people to treat you badly. Because treating yourself badly can really screw you up. It can make you question your life.

There is nothing wrong with working. But everything is wrong with working for a toxic person, a person who doesn’t see you as a human being. A person who does not care about you. A person who is after what you can do for him or her, not who you are. If you stay there, it is your choice. If you choose to leave, it is also your choice. Remember that you always have a choice. You are not choiceless.

If you want to get to where you want to be, to become who God created you to be, you must raise yourself. You must stop accepting what is below your potential. And never stop loving who you are, no matter what.
