4 Ways To Make Today Count

To make today count, you must live it. And if you do not live it, if you do not choose yourself, you will lose it.

To make today count, try these four strategies:

“Put your whole heart into the present”

James Allen said, “Put your whole heart into the present, living it, minute by minute, hour by hour, and day by day, self-governed and pure.” If you really want to make today count, you must stay in the present moment.

Choose yourself

Chogyam Trungpa once said, “Unless we are able to make friends with ourselves, there is no hope at all. If we abandon ourselves as hopeless, as villains, then there is no steppingstone.” To know yourself, you must embrace yourself. Do not reject yourself, no matter what. Even if others don’t like you, if you are for yourself, no one can be against you.

Stay away from negative people.

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always o that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”- Mark Twain

Face a situation fearlessly

Florence Scovel Shinn said, “Face a situation fearlessly, and there is no situation to face; it falls away of its own weight.” If you do not believe in your own self, if you cannot face life, consider what you are doing to yourself. You are limiting yourself. Because you do not have the courage to face life, to face your fears.

Remember, to defeat something, you must face it.

How To Create Space For Happiness

Do not let what is happening around you determine your happiness. You are in charge of your happiness. You can make yourself happy. If something is not making you happy, do not do it.

And do not worry yourself about what you cannot change. Change what you can change. Plus, do not focus on problems, focus on solutions. When you are committed to learning new things, when you are not afraid to fall, when you see problems as opportunities, when you pay attention to what is happening around you, when you are willing and ready to challenge yourself, you will find happiness within you.

Because happiness comes from really living your life. When you are able to connect what you are doing with your dreams, with your goals, you will find happiness within you. So, to really make yourself happy, you must love yourself. You must love what you are doing. Because if you do not love yourself, if you do not love what you are doing, you will find it difficult to create space for happiness in your life.

You can make yourself happy. Do not delegate your happiness to other people. Do not expect other people to make you happy. If you cannot make yourself happy, you are done! Yes, you are done! Because you do not have to wait for other people to make you happy. Waiting for other people to make you happy is like worrying yourself about what is NEVER going to happen. Do not do that.

You have your happiness within you. Do not search for your happiness. It is already there. You just have to connect with it. You just have to make room for your happiness to shine.

And to bring happiness into your life, do not fill your mind with negative things. If you want happiness, let anger go. If you want happiness, let resentment go. If you want happiness, let worry go. If you want love, let hate go. If you want happiness, let jealousy go. You have what it takes to make yourself happy. You can do it. Do not do things that will not add to your happiness account. Do not hang out with negative people. Do not worry about the past. The past is gone. Instead of worrying yourself about your past, why not focus on improving your life, why not focus on doing better than you did yesterday?

You can do it. If you cannot make yourself happy, you do not have to seek it from other people. Because they cannot do it for you. Only you can make yourself really happy. And remember that things are always going to happen to you in your life. You cannot stop things from happening to you, but you can control how you deal with them. Whatever you want in your life, make space for it. If you want love, make space for love. The question is, what are you creating space for?
