What Are You Still Holding On To?

‘Holding on is not the same as taking care of what you value or protecting that which is yours.’ – Iyanla Vanzant

To you, what does ‘holding on’ mean? Does it mean taking care of what you have? Does it mean fighting to defend what you already have?

Why do we even hold on to things that we know are not helping us? Why?

Because we don’t want to lose our things. We want what we already to be there, to stay with us. We don’t want to lose them. We love what we have.

Guess what, if you don’t let go, nothing is going to come in. To let go is to let in. If you want to see new things in your life, you must let go of the old ones.

You cannot be in two places at the same time. That is not possible. If you want to be good at what you are doing, you will have to let go of one.

Letting go means freedom. It won’t hurt you. Instead, letting go is a blessing.

Remember why you are here. Your life matters. You are not here to protect what is not worth protecting. You are here to live your life, to be who you are, to do what you love to do.

If you do not want to let go of what is no longer helping you, what you need won’t be able to get to you.

For example, to grow, you must do whatever you can to make it to where you can make your dreams happen. Do not let things hold you back. And do not hold yourself back by holding on to things that have no power to change your life.

The question is, ‘What are you holding on to?’ Whatever it is that you think in your life that you are still holding on to, if it is not helping you, if it is not getting you closer to your dreams, you MUST let it leave your life.

Because you don’t have time to waste. Because you life matters. Because you want to advanve to your next level.

In the words of Iyanla Vanzant, ‘When you can stop holding on, you begin to realize that your blessings cannot be taken away, nor will they go away until the Universe is ready to up the ante.‘ She is right.

You can stop holding on. You can do it when you start small. Do not rush yourself. Because ‘rushing leads to nowhere.’

How To Connect With Your Future Self

Your future self is waiting for you. The questions is, ‘What are you doing right now? How are you living your day?

Are you challenging yourself enough? Are you thinking the same thoughts? Are you meeting with the right people? Are you learning? Do you have a goal? What are you doing to make your goal a reality?

If you are not working to change the direction of your life, you are wasting your time. You are not living your real life. You are waiting for what is not going to come to you.

Remember that a great life doesn’t happen by accident. If you want something to come to you, if you want to be successful, you must get to work. You must work for what you want.

You will get what you worked for, not what you want. That is how life works.

If you want to really connect with your future self, you have got to change what is not working in your life right now. Do not do it tomorrow. You must get to work today.

You must take care of your thoughts. When you take care of your thoughts, your thoughts will take care of your future.

To change your life, to connect with your future self, you must challenge yourself. Tough things build confidence. When you do more, you become more.

And you must take risks if you are to connect with your future self. If you want to connect with your future self, you must have the courage to try new things.

Do not shy away from new things. Put yourself out there. Do not expect greatness to come to you. That is not going to happen. That is not how life works.

Do things that add to your life, not things that take away from your life.

If what you are doing is not helping you get better, let it go. Now!
