Focus On Growth, Not Perfection

‘When we focus on small, incremental improvements instead of perfection, the human spirit takes over, and all things become much more possible.‘- Dr. Jason Selk and Tom Bartow

Nothing is perfect. It is okay to be ‘perfectly imperfect.’ That is what you want to fight for, not perfection.

If you want to be perfect before you do anything, you are going to wait forever. Why? Because you can never achieve perfection. But you can grow while you are fighting for perfection.

Growth is possible, but perfection is not. If you focus on perfection, if you are striving for perfection, you are setting yourself up for failure.

Do not do that. It will hurt you. Whatever you want to do, do not wait to be perfect before you take the first step. If you do, you are going to wait forever. And forever never ends. It continues.

Stop Making Excuses

‘People who don’t make excuses are the ones you want on your team. They are the ones you can count on when the pressure mounts. They are the all-stars, the leaders, the consistent winners in life.’– Dr. Jason Selk and Tom Bartow

Winners don’t make excuses. If you want to be a winner in your life, do not make excuses. Start taking actions, start facing your fears.

‘People who don’t make excuses are the people you want around you.’

People want to be around winners, around doers, around achievers. If you want people to be around you, then you have got to change what is not working for you. Change your bad habits. Stop making excuses. Start confronting your fears. Now is the right time to do it. And you can do it.

‘If you want to be successful in your life, you must surround yourself with people who don’t make excuses.’

Leaders don’t make excuses. They face their problems. They take responsibility for their failures, for their screw-ups. So if you want to be a great leader, you must take responsibility for your life. Do not hide behind excuses.

And consistent winners don’t make excuses. If you want to be one of them, you have got to stop your excuses. Stop them before they stop you from achieving success in your life.

And you can. How? One step at a time. One action at a time. And one fight at a time. The more you do, the closer you are to where you want to be.
