Why Following Trends Can Hold You Back

‘... it’s better to rock what actaully suits you, rather than what everyone else is doing just because it’s ‘in.’ Don’t follow trends if they don’t look good on you. Dare to think for yourself and be honest about what you see in the mirror.’– Amber Rose

You know yourself better than anyone else. You know what you want to achieve in your life.

Just because everyone else is doing something doesn’t make it right. If you do not know why people are doing what they are doing, do not do it. Why is that? Because you do not know where they are going. You don’t even know why they are doing what they are doing.

There is a gap between where you are and where you want to be. You are the only person who is going to narrow it. No one is going to narrow it for you.

If where you are is not working for you, you can beat your own path for yourself. Do not do what others are doing. Do what works, not what is popular.

Because you are not here to follow people. You are here to follow yourself, to beat your path, to make a difference, to change the world. Do not be scared. Now go beat your own path.

Why Hope Matters

No matter what stage of life you’re at right now, keep reminding yourself that it will get better. Just keep being your bad bitch self, and it will all work out the way it’s supposed to in the end, with you ruling your own life on your own terms and no thought for any of the haters.’– Amber Rose

Go to work for yourself. Go to work for your dreams. And be willing to give more, not less. Just know that not everybody is going to celebrate you when you succeed.

But people will have a lot to say if you do not make it. That is okay. Do not let that bother you. Let them talk. Your work is not to stop them from talking. Your work is to keep going, is to keep making a difference. To keep hope alive.

Is it going to be perfect? No, it is going to be hard. But do not give up. Believe in what you are doing. According to Amber, ‘Everytime you trust yourself, every time you do something scary or hard, you become a little bit stronger.‘ That is how we grow. That is how we make progress.

If you want to make yourself stronger, to prepare yourself for what is next, you have got to be true to yourself. The question is, ‘Are you in it for you?’
