You can make peace with yourself if you have the courage to live your own life on your own terms. Do not beat yourself up for what you don’t have. If you want to make peace with yourself, with your soul, accept yourself as you really are.
Do not let doubts, resentments, or fears keep you where you are. You are here to live your life. You are not here to exist. You are here to make a difference in your life. Do not let what happened to you stop you from living your real life. Be bold. Live boldly.
To make peace with yourself, here are 4 simple ways to get there:
Believe in God. The Scripture says, “The Lord is the strength of my life… in this will I be confident.” Believe you can achieve greatness in your life. Do not let people talk you out of your dreams. Believe that God can change your life around. And He will do it for you. But you must do your own part to make it happen.
Always do your best. According to Og Mandino, “Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.” Do not let circumstances change your life. If you can’t change your circumstances, change your attitude. If you can change your attitude, your circumstances will change. So do not focus on what you cannot do. Focus on what you can do to change your life. And you can do a lot to change your life. Just go for it.
Do not listen to those who complain. Life is not about complaining about what you are not good at. It is about learning about what you are not good at. If you want to better your life, you must stop listening to talkers. Talkers don’t do, they talk. Doers don’t talk, they do. So if you want to grow, you must follow doers, not talkers. Og Mandino said, “Do not listen to those who weep and complain, for their disease is contagious.”
Do not forget your dreams. Nothing happens by accident. We grow when we challenge ourselves. We don’t grow when we do nothing to improve our lives. If you want to grow, you must do something positive every day. You must take one step at a time. You must let go of the things that are holding you back. It is okay to fail, but do not stop trying to achieve your dreams. Og Mandino was right when he said, “Always I will take another step. If that is of no avail I will take another, and yet another. In truth, one step at a time is not too difficult. I will persist until I succeed.” In other words, do not give up. Keep trying. Keep moving your life forward. You can do it.
