We Don’t Forgive Being As We Are. Why?

Antonio Porchia said, “We don’t forgive being as we are.” Why is that? Why is it so hard to accept ourselves? Life is about acceptance. Life is about love. Life is about happiness. You want to enjoy your life. You want to be happy. You want to love and be loved. But can you really do these things without self-love, without self-acceptance? Can you?

You can’t love yourself if you can’t accept yourself. Acceptance is love. To fulfill your purpose in life, to achieve your dreams, you must accept yourself. You must love yourself. Why is that? Whether you beat yourself up or not, you can’t change your past. Since you can’t change your past, you must accept yourself and work with what you have.

Accepting yourself for who you really are is the best way to live your life. It is not going to be easy, but you can do it. It requires YOU to do it. If you want other people to accept you, you must first accept yourself. Accepting yourself means accepting your bad habits, your imperfections, your failures, your mistakes, and your negative emotions. Everything!

Stop beating yourself up. That is not the way to love yourself. That is not the way to love your life. The best way to love your life is to love yourself. It does not matter how ugly you are, you must be comfortable with yourself. Because no one is like you. Don’t compare yourself to anyone. Compare yourself to yourself. Instead of beating yourself up for what you don’t like about yourself, why not love yourself. Whatever you don’t like about yourself, change it. If you don’t change it, no one will change it for you. Because it is your problem, not theirs.

It is your responsibility to change your life, not to beat yourself up. Beating yourself up is not going to help you get better. It is going to make everything worse. Because on one is perfect in life. You can’t get everything right in your life. But you can get something right. Your responsibility is to focus on what you are doing right, not what you are doing wrong. Accept whatever you have. If it is not what you want, make it better. If you can’t make it better, let it go. Don’t live your life in denial. If something is not good for you, get rid of it.

You are a human being. Accept that you are going to make mistakes from time to time. That is life. There is nothing you can do about it. If you are not ready to make mistakes, you are not ready to grow. You must stop beating yourself up. You must start loving yourself, your life. You are what you are. Nothing less, nothing more. Just accept yourself.
