Why We Can’t Change Much

‘We can’t change much if we won’t risk much.’- Bob Goff

If you want to succeed in the future, you must embrace change. You must take risks.

As a human being, you love where you are. You are enjoying it. You are comfortable with what you are doing.

Yes, you are enjoying it. You are loving it, but you are not growing. You are not moving forward.

If you want to experience new things in your life, you have got to take risks. Because what you are looking for is not where you are. It is not there. It is on the other side of the bridge of life.

So if you want to get to the other side of the bridge of life, you have got to walk across the bridge.

I am not saying you shouldn’t enjoy where you are. That is not what I am saying. You know what I mean? I am talking about change. The thing that we hate talking about.

But without it, you are done. Without change, growth is not going to happen. And with change comes uncertainty. I think this is why people do not want to get out of where they are.

Because of uncertainty, people will prefer to stay where they are. But is avoiding change going to do it for you? I do not think so.

So, whatever you are doing right now, you must focus on it. Don’t copy other people. Learn from them. Do not try to be who you are not. Because you are you. So why not enjoy the gift of life?

When Courage Is At War With Fear

Fear says, ‘you are not responsible for your life.’ Courage says, ‘you are responsible for your life. You are responsible for your mistakes. You are responsible for where you are.’

Fear says, ‘when you mess up, blame other people. Courage says, ‘no.’ Courage says, ‘when you mess up, you are responsible for your mess. If you want it to change, you have got to stop blaming other people.’

Fear says, ‘Don’t worry about growth. You are okay where you are.’ But courage says, ‘no.’ Courage says, ‘growth happens when you move, when you have the courage to face your future, to do what is scary, to take risks, to do what is uncomfortable, not when you are stuck in one place.’

Fear says, ‘where you are right now, your comfort zone, is good for your growth.’ Courage says, ‘comfort zone is just comfort zone. When you are comfortable, you are not learning. When you are comfortable, you are not moving; you are just there. You are not stretching yourself. You are not adding value to your life. You are not growing through life. Instead, you are just going through life’

Courage says, ‘Do not be afraid to try what is new, what you do not know. Do not be afraid to challenge yourself, to change your mind, to challenge your assumptions. Because that is how you are going to grow.’

The question is, ‘Do you want to experience a new life?’
