‘Keep going, no matter what.’ Because life is not fair. Life is hard, not soft. If you really want what you say you want, you have got to keep going. That is why we’ve got to be persistent. If not, we are just dreaming.
When it comes to getting to the other side, persistency is everything. It is the key. Things will happen that we cannot do anything about. Failures will happen. Fear will come. People will disappoint us. Friends will betray us. Plans will change. Doubts will show up. We will sometimes fail to do the work. Things will get really tough. We want to quit. But to make your dreams come true, to stay in the game, you can change your plan, but not where you are going.
You can change how you are going to get there, but not where you want to be. That is okay. It is okay to make an adjustment when things are going the other way. It is okay to do things differently when things are not going according to plan.
Instead of going home, it is better to make a little bit of change to your plan. That is what persistent people do. When things are tough, persistent people don’t quit. Instead, they come up with different plans. Why do they do that? Because they know what is going to happen if they don’t do what they are supposed to do. They know that failure is sure. They know that stagnation is sure. They also know that people who quit when the game is till going on don’t achieve much in life. So they do not want to be one of them. They want to be successful.
You can do the same for you. It doesn’t matter what you do in your life, or what you want to add to your dreams, if you want to be successful, to make a difference, you must keep going. You do not have to stop yourself when the game is still going on. You do not have to stop yourself from enjoying the music when the music is till playing. Because to get to where you want to be, you must keep playing the game. You must stay in the game.
You must do the work. And to do the work, you must stay in the game. That is what persistent people. They don’t leave until it is over. They don’t leave the field until the lights are out. They do not give up. They believe in who they are. Persistent people know who they are, what they are after in life, challenge themselves, never settle for less, always hungry, and are willing to do the work until they get what they want. Above all, persistent people are human beings. But they are hard workers. They are long-term thinkers. If you want your dreams to come true, you have got to keep going.
