To increase joy in our lives, according to Dr. Shauna Shapiro, ‘… we must liberate ourselves from the myth of perfection.’

Because ‘Perfection isn’t possible, but transformation is.’

Remember your intention.

Because ‘remembering our intention gives us the crucial pause between our reaction and our response so that we can gain perspective, reconnect with our heart, and choose how we want to proceed.’

‘The most important thing is to remember the most important thing.

‘You must be present to win.’

‘When we care about ourselves, we are more likely to take care of outselves.

You are never alone in your suffering.’

‘Shame locks us into repeating mistakes.’

‘Forgiveness is not about condoning someone’s behavior; it is about freeing our own hearts by releasing the burden of anger and resentment.’

‘In our complex and demanding world, our most valuable asset is no longer our time, it is our attention.’

As always, you are more, not less!

Always Choose Progress Over Perfection

The good news is that you do not have to be perfect to be successful. You do not have to get stuck because you want to be perfect. You can achieve greatness without being perfect.

If you want to make things happen, do not choose to be perfect. Instead, choose to make progress every day.

When it comes to growth, it is better to make progress every day, no matter how small, than to hide behind trying to be perfect.

In the words of Mary Poffenroth, ‘When you’re constantly chasing perfection, it’s not because you want to be best. It’s because you’re afraid of what will happen if you’re not.’

Do not live your life in fear. Instead, live your life in faith. Believe in yourself. Believe that you are more than enough, that nothing you cannot do, that you are well prepared to face anything that comes your way, and that you will alway choose progress over perfection. Start today!

As always, you are more, not less!
