What does it mean to do your best?

If you are doing your best, you will be happier than when you are not doing your best. We are here to do our best, not to do our worst. If you do your best, you will get the best. If you do your worst, you will reap your worst.

No matter where you are and what you are doing, try to always be the best, think the best, act the best, and live the best. That is the only way to a successful life.

You cannot be the best if you continue to do bad things. Remember, bad things cannot give you want you want. Only good things can give you what you want.

According to H. Jackson Brown, Jr., “If you are doing your best, you won’t have anytime to worry about failure.”

That is right.

If you are really, really doing your best in life and at work, you won’t have anytime to:

Worry about your failures.

Worry about your mistakes.

Please people who are not pleasing you.

Love people who are not loving you.

Be around people who are not thinking in positive ways.

Waste your time on things that are not helping you get better in life

Think about what others are thinking about you

Think negatively about the things that are not working well for you.

Doing your best allows you to ignore these things. If you can ignore them, the better and healthier and happier your life will be.

Ignore them!

Pursue Your Purpose, Not Your Passion

“To make no mistakes is not in the power of man; but from their errors and mistakes the wise and good learn wisdom for the future.”- Plutarch, Greek-Roman biographer

Whatever you want to achieve in your life, go for it. Do not let the fear of failure stop you from pursuing your purpose. The reason we are here is to pursue our purposes. If you are not pursuing your purpose, what are you pursuing?

No matter what you want to achieve in your life, it is not going to be perfect before you start. We are not perfect. We live in an imperfect world. So, our decisions are not going to be perfect. Remember, there is power in imperfection. Publilius Syrus said, “No one knows what he can do until he tries.”

To achieve greatness in you life, you must follow your purpose, not your passion. Your purpose is who you are. It is bigger than your passion. Your purpose in life is your driver, meaning it controls all your decisions. Your purpose doesn’t change. It stays the same.

On the other hand, your passion changes with time. If you want to be successful, follow your driver- purpose.
