Peace Is Something You Do For Yourself

“Peace is not something you wish for; it is something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.”– Robert Fulghum

If you want to connect with your REAL life, your inner self, your inner voice, you need to nurture your mind. When you nurture your mind, your mind will nurture you. You can’t be productive if you don’t have a healthy mind.

A peaceful life is a life with problems. No one can live a peaceful life without a problem. If you want peace, fight for it. It is your responsibility to make peace with yourself. Anthony de Mello said, “If it is peace you want, seek to change yourself, not other people.” If you can’t make peace with yourself, you can’t make peace with other people. Because a peaceful life starts with you.

If you are not at peace with yourself, check your thoughts. Are you thinking the right thoughts? Are you doing the right things? Are your words positive? Because you can’t be at peace with yourself if your words are negative. You can’t be at peace with yourself if your actions are negative. You can’t be at peace with yourself if you occupy your mind with negative thoughts.

If you want to be at peace with yourself, make peace with your mind.

How Do You Treat People?

How do you treat a person who cannot help you? How do you treat people who have no power? How do you treat yourself?

“Keep in mind that the true measure of an individual is how he treats a person who can do him absolutely no good.”

Eppie Lederer

People are not interested in what you have, how intelligent you are, how beautiful you are, or how successful you are; they are interested in how you treat people. People want to be treated with respect and dignity. They don’t want you to humiliate them. They want you to see them as human being. If you want people to respect you, love you, want you, you must treat them with respect. Respect is reciprocal. If you don’t treat people with respect, they will not treat you with respect.

When you meet people, don’t disrespect them. Give them love. Give them happiness. Make them believe in themselves. The more love you give to people, the more love you will receive. You get back what you sent into the world. If you send disrespect, you will receive disrespect. If you send respect, you will receive respect. Be mindful how you treat people. If you want to be treated with respect, treat people with respect.
