How To Take Responsibility For Your Life

“If it’s never our faults, we can’t take responsibility for it. If we can’t take responsibility for it, we’ll always be its victim.”- Richard Bach

Who is responsible for your life? Who is responsible for your happiness? Who is responsible for your growth and development? Who is responsible for your peace of mind? Who is responsible for healing your soul? Who is responsible for changing your life? Who is responsible for moving you forward? Who?

If you are honest with yourself, the question is not hard to answer. It is very simple. It is YOU. You are responsible for your life. Stop waiting for people to fix you. No one is responsible for your life. You are in charge of your life. You are the boss. You are in command. Don’t wait for your brother or your sister to fix you. You have what it takes to help yourself get better. You know what it takes to move your life forward. If you don’t know, ask. Don’t shut up. If you don’t ask, you won’t get. If you ask, you will get.

You are responsible for asking for what you want. If you don’t take responsibility for asking for what you want, no one will ask for you. No one. Not even your best friend. Aldous Huxley said, “We were left to go our way and take responsibility for our own affairs.” If you really mean business, you must take care of your own affairs.

We are here to depend on ourselves. We are not here to depend on anyone. It is okay to ask for help, but don’t depend on anyone. Depend on yourself. Do your own work. Grow your own garden. Live your own life. Don’t imitate anyone. Don’t compare yourself to others. Don’t compare your achievements with others. Your achievements are your achievements. Enjoy them.

If you don’t have the courage to take responsibility for your failure, you will be its victim. If you can’t look your fear in the face, you will be its victim. If you don’t want to be a victim, you must take responsibility for your life. There are no easy ways to live a better life. There are no easy ways to change your life. There are no easy ways to become who you want to be. The only way is to do your work. If you want to succeed in your life, you must do your own work. Are you ready to work? Are you ready to do whatever it takes to succeed?

Don’t Let Life Discourage You

Richard L. Evans said, “Don’t let life discourage you; everyone who got where he is had to begin where he was.”

You are probably saying to yourself, “I don’t know what to do now. I have tried everything, but nothing is working? Why me? Why are things not working for me? Other people are doing really well, but I am not? Why me?

It is okay to feel the way you are feeling right now. It is normal to feel like that. But don’t let life tell you what you cannot do. Don’t let life discourage you. All you need to do is to focus on your dreams.

The world is always going to tell you what you are not good at. But let me ask you a question. Do you know what you are good at? Do you know what you are not good at? If you know, life cannot tell you anything. It is what you tell yourself that really matters. Now, my friend, what are you telling yourself on a daily basis? Are you celebrating your life? Or are you criticizing your life? If you are criticizing your life, you need to change it. But if you are celebrating your life, according to Oprah Winfrey, “You will have more to celebrate.”

Your life is yours to live, not to endure.”

Do not challenge life. Just accept it. You cannot change life. But you can change yourself by focusing on what really counts. If spending time with your friends counts, do more of it. If taking your partner to a fine restaurant counts, do more of it. If reading a good book counts, read more books. Just do what counts.

Your life is yours to live, not to endure. You deserve to live your life the way you want it. Again, do not let life discourage you. Keep living, and keep moving forward, no matter what.
