6 Keys To Your Own Success

Success knows no boundaries. Success is a team work. You can’t do it alone. You need other people to help you grow. But if you really want to be successful, you have got to master yourself. You have got to master your inner life. And you have got to be true to yourself. And these six keys can help you if you follow them.

Do not be scared to make your own decisions for your life.

‘You have to start by making decisions for your life, not your parent’s lives, not your friend’s lives, not your partner’s life, not your peers’ lives.”- Brianna Wiest

If you are not in charge of your own decisions, what makes you think you are going to be successful?

Be comfortable with discomfort.

‘Discomfort, much like anger, grief, and jealousy, is a healthy human emotion that communicates something to us. It’s not the feeling itself that’s unhealthy, but that we do not know what to do with it when it arises.”- brianna Wiest

Nothing great is comfortable. So if you want to achieve great things in your life, you have got to be comfortable with discomfort.

Be consistent.

‘You can’t keep changing your plans, your strategy, or your goals, and expect to get anywhere significant.”- Brianna Wiest

If you want to be successful in your life, you have got to be consistent. Stay with what you are doing. But if it is not working, then check what is going on. Maybe you are missing something.

Do not waste your energy on things that don’t matter to you.

‘Don’t waste your most potent energy on things that drain you.”- Brianna Wiest

Stay away from things that are not getting you closer to your dreams. Stay away from people who are not for your dreams. If you are around them, you will never achieve your dreams. Why? Because they are dream killers.

Trust yourself

‘To trust yourself means that you will dare to step forward, despite all odds, no matter what’s up against you, no matter what forces may be at work. To trust yourself means that you are no longer content to lodge your soul in the circumstances that have longed stopped serving you. To trust yourself means that you will no longer accept fear reprogramming you, reorienting your values and changing your perspective to one that is simply holding you back.”- Brianna Wiest

Life will throw horrible things at you, but do not give up. Trust yourself. And believe that you can face them.

Be kind to yourself.

‘Being kind to yourself is often doing the thing you least want to do.”- Brianna Wiest

We get better when we do the thing we don’t want to do. We get ahead in life when we do what others don’t want to do, when we go to places that others don’t want to go, when we read books that others don’t want to read, and when we get out of our comfort zones.

3 Ways To Make Better Decisions

When it comes to making the best decisions, you matter. Your values matter. Your goals matter. And your future matters.
Make your decisions based on what you want to achieve for your life, not what other people want you to achieve for yourself.
Because you are here to live your life, to create your own world, to make a difference. And you can't get there by using other people's decisions to live your life, to do your work. That is not living, but existing.
Remember, you are not here to exist, you are here to live, to grow, to conquer yourself. To make your life happen, you must learn how to make better decisions.

If you do not know how to start, or where to start, you can start with these quotes from Dr. Rob Yeung, a business psychologist

Take care of your environment.
''Simply living or working in an untidy, chaotic, unstructured environment may hamper people's decision- making.'' Where you work represents who you are. If you think you can get away with an untidy environment, you are kidding yourself. Do not call it creativity. Call it lazivity.

Focus on what is important.
''Having more options actually bewilders and overwhelms us- it makes it harder for us to make any decsion at all.'' We have more than we want. But to get what you want, to make a better decision, you must know what you do not want. If not, you are going to be lost. When that happens, nothing gets done.

Go for a walk. 'Simply going for a walk boosts creativity. Being outdoors also boosts creativity.' If you want to make a better decision, just go for a walk. You will feel better when you are back.
