Is Happiness A Mental Habit?

Happiness is a feeling of pleasure and well-being that ranges from momentary contentment to deep and abiding joy.”– Muriel and John James, Passion for Life: Psychology and the Human Spirit

We all want to be happy. How do we find happiness? How do we attract happiness into our lives? What do we do? Where do we go to find happiness? Is happiness a mental habit? Can we buy happiness? If so, how much does it cost?

You are here on earth to be happy, not to be sad. It is your choice to be happy. Yes, your choice. You can choose to be happy, or unhappy.

If you want to be happy today, right now, not next week, go out there and make someone happy. Do good to people you don’t even know. Your happiness is in your mind. Don’t look outside of yourself to search for happiness. Look inside of yourself. It is right there waiting for you.

James Freeman Clarke said, “Seek to do good, and you will find that happiness will run after you.” If you want to be happy, seek to do something good, and you will find your happiness.

Happiness is a mind game. Not outside game. If you want to be happy, look inside, not outside. Hold yourself accountable for your happiness. Always focus on happy things. Think happy thoughts. You can do that, because you are in control of your thoughts. Think about positive things.

Focus on the things that will make you happy, not things that will make you sad. Again, you are here on earth to be happy. So make yourself happy.

“Happiness is the skill of reacting to the offerings of life by perception and by enjoyment.”-Jim Rohn

Live your life in positive ways. Don’t focus on the dark side of things. Focus on the positive side of things.

Remember that every day is not going to be a perfect day. If you find yourself struggling with something, focus on how you can turn it around. Focus on what will make you happy, and you will find happiness.

Finally, according to Robert Holden, “the more we pursue happiness, the more we forget how to be happy.” You can’t find happiness anywhere. It is in you.

If You Want To Know Who You Really Are, Don’t Fool Yourself

Richard Feynman said, “The first principle is that you must not fool yourself and you are the easiest person to fool.”

“Self- awareness is the key to a successful life.” If you don’t know yourself, if you are not honest with yourself, if you keep deceiving yourself, if you keep running away from reality, you will NEVER know yourself. You will keep fooling yourself.

No one expects life to be easy. But life is much more interesting if you have the courage to face life.

No matter what you are going through, go through it. Don’t lie to yourself. Don’t run away from your problems. They are your problems to fix. No one can handle your problems, but you.

Pick your fight wisely. Don’t waste your time, your energy, your resources on things you are not good at. Do what you are good at, and do it very well.

“Success comes from doing what you are good at.”

“Failure comes from doing what you are not good at.”

Don’t do something because people want you to do it. Don’t do something because your parents or your friends want you to do it.

Do something because you want to do it. Do it because it is the right thing to do for yourself. For your growth. For your development. For your career. For your relationships. For your health. For your happiness. For your spiritual being. Just do it!

Don’t allow people to make critical decisions for you. Make your decisions yourself, and take responsibility for making them.

Don’t pretend to be busy when you are not really doing anything. If you do that, you are wasting your time.

Remember that if you waste your time, you are wasting your life. Don’t waste your life. Don’t lie to yourself. Be honest with yourself.

If you want to be successful in life, be honest with yourself. Don’t fool yourself.

Are you ready to stop fooling yourself?
