Why We Follow Hopeful Leaders

‘When we are at our lowest point at work or school or in our personal lives, hope is a multiplier. It can turn even a tiny amount of energy into mojo for the future. Nothing good happens when we are demoralized. The leaders who care about us most know this. That’s why they work so hard to give us a glimmer of what’s possible. And that is why people follow them.’- Dr. Shane J. Lopez, PhD

Life Is Not About You. It Is About This

According to Werner Erhard, ''If you're going to be a leader,
you're going to have to have a loose relationship with this thing you call 'I' or 'me'.
Maybe that whole thing in me around which the universe revolves isn't so central,
maybe life is not about the self but about self trancendence.''- Werner Erhard

If you are going to be an effective leader,
you are going to put other people's interests before your own.
Do not put yourself first. If you do, no one is going to follow you.
And a leader without a follower is not a leader.
And do not forget that life is not about you. It is about others.
So if you want others to follow you, put them first.
