Wherever you are, be there. ‘Give yourself permission to feel and connect, as not everything is a joke. There’s a time to tell the truth, to be serious. Connect to the people who surround you, the environment, and the mood.’
It is okay to feel your feelings. When people are feeling their feelings, be there. Do not ignore them. Do not try to change them. They don’t want you to change them. They don’t want you to tell them how to feel their feelings.
All they want from you is your presence. When you are there, be there. When you are there, just listen. ‘Just because someone seems fearless and brave and untouchable doing what they do doesn’t mean they are.’
If you want to know what people are going through, be there for them, not against them.
