“What I really need is to get clear about what you I must do, not what I must know, except insofar as knowledge must precede every act. What matters is to find a purpose, to see what it really is that God wills that I shall do; the crucial thing is to find a truth which is true for me, to find the idea for which I am willing to live and die.“- Soren Kierkegaard
Trust yourself. But do not blindly trust yourself. If you do not know what you are doing, do not play with other people’s lives. If you do not know something, say it, admit it. It is a strength, not a weakness.
And to really trust yourself, to really believe in yourself, to really give yourself love, you must stop judging yourself. Stop judging yourself. Stop judging your life. Do not compare the life you are living now to other people’s lives. Mind your own business. Because when you focus on other people’s lives, when you do not trust yourself, you are going to be frustrated with yourself. You are not going to be comfortable with yourself. And you are going to be constantly criticizing yourself, your actions. Stop it. Stop telling yourself lies. Stop putting yourself down. Remember, no one is going to respect you if you do not have the courage to respect yourself.
“Learn how to be comfortable with yourself.”
Treat yourself with love, with compassion. Do not put yourself down, no matter what. Know that we are all different. We are all different. We are one, but different. You are different. The way you talk is different. The way you walk is different. The way you kiss is different. Your personality is different. Your DNA is yours. It is different. Look, instead of telling yourself how bad you are, how terrible you are, why not use the same energy to give yourself love, to celebrate your life, to relax?
Relax. Just find time to connect with yourself, to connect with your inner world, to connect with your mind, to refresh your thoughts. You need it. We all need time to relax. But we don’t give it to ourselves. Why is that? Because we are trying to prove ourselves. That is why the world is suffering from “busyness syndrome.” Because we don’t have time for ourselves anymore. We are just chasing our worldly dreams. We are doing what the world wants us to do. We don’t even have the time to live our own lives, to love ourselves, to take care of ourselves, to enjoy our worldly possessions. We don’t.
“Life will usually go on if things don’t go according to plan.”- Richard Carlson
But you can change your life. You can choose how you want to live your life. You can design the life you want for yourself. Just create time for yourself. Do not be afraid to be alone. Because if you really want to clear your mind, you need alone time. It doesn’t mean you are lonely. You are not. You are just trying to reconnect with your true self. When you allow yourself to relax, you will come back better, stronger. When you allow yourself to relax, when you allow yourself to love yourself, when you allow yourself to be, to be you, you will come back healthier, happier.
We need it, but we don’t relax. We don’t even know how to make peace with ourselves. Whether you know how to trust yourself or not, whether you know how to make peace with yourself or not, if you want to be happy, you must learn how to relax. To make peace with yourself, Dr Richard Carlson said, “The first step in becoming a more peaceful person is to have the humility to admit that, in most cases, you’re creating your own emergencies.” Trust yourself. Stop making “your own emergencies.” All you need from yourself is to learn how to live with yourself. Because if you don’t know how to live with yourself, you won’t be able to live with other people. And to live with others, learn how to trust yourself. Because trust is the only way to greatness.
