How To Face What You Cannot Change

If you want to make peace with yourself, you have got to love change. Change is life. If you are not comfortable with change, you have got lots of work to do. Why? Because you cannot live your life without change. If you do not like change, you do not like life. Change is not comfortable, but you cannot live without it. Change is not easy. We do not like to change, but we need change to move our lives forward. So if you really want to face change, here are what you should know:

If you want to change your life, do not underestimate the power of change.

According to Wheeler L. Baker, “Never underestimate change. What seems simple at the top is magniofied at lower echelons and is extremely disruptive.” If you are really thinking about changing anything in your life, do not rush. Because change is harder than you think. It is not going to happen overnight. There is no such thing as overnight change. Change is a process, not a destination.

When it comes to change, when it comes to changing your life, you cannot change everything.

Do not worry about changing everything. Change what you can change. If you cannot change something, learn to live your life with it. Manage it. Do not ignore it. James Baldwin once said, “Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.” Just because you cannot change something does not mean you should ignore it. Do not ignore it. Just learn to live with it. If you can do that, life is yours.

If you want to enjoy your life, if you want to grow, if you want to succeed in your life, just know that things will never stay the way they are.

Do not expect things to stay the way they are. It is not going to happen. Things are always changing. So if you want to stay relevant, if you want to grow, you must embrace change. Because when you embrace change, change will always come to you. Do not fear change. If you want to live your life, change is the way. In the words of Bertolt Brecht, “Because things are the way they are, things will not stay the way they are.” Things are always changing. If you want to stay important, you must change with them.
