Do This One Thing That Counts Every Day

Are you enjoying what you have? Are you listening to the voice of your heart? If you are not, why are you not doing it? Are you scared? If you are scared, why?

“The purpose of life is living. Men and women should get the most they can out of their lives.”- Clarence Darrow

If you want to be successful, you must listen to your own heart. You must follow your heart. Do not go with the crowd. Yes, new things are scary. If you can do them, you will grow.

Wilheim Reich said, “Follow the voice of your heart, even if it leads off the path of timid souls. Do not become hard and embittered, even if life tortures you at times. There is only one thing that counts: to live one’s life well and happily…” It is never too late to live your life on your own terms.

“It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.”- Charles Spurgeon

Even if life is not giving you what you want, do what Friedrich Schiller said. He said, “Keep true to the dreams of thy youth.” This is why you shouldn’t follow the crowd. There is nothing there. If you follow the crowd, you are not going to be happy with yourself.

Whether you know what is going to happen or not, whether it will work or not, it is better to follow your heart, your dreams, your passion. Listen to what your soul is telling you. Do not ignore your soul. Your soul is your partner. If you want to succeed in life, listen to your trusted partner- your soul.

And to satisfy your soul, you must not follow the crowd. You must follow your own path. You must dream your own dreams. Remember, everything starts with a dream. If you want to make your soul happy, you must dream your own dreams. Henry J. Kaiser said, “I always have to dream up against the stars. If I don’t dream I will make it, I won’t even get close.” He knows that everything starts with a dream.

Remember, it is not enough to have a dream. If you want your dream to come true, you must have a plan. And you must be willing and ready to put your plan to work. Are you willing to put your plan to work?

This Is Your Only Obligation On This Earth

Can you touch yourself? Can you touch other people? Do you know who you really are? Are you comfortable with yourself? If you are not, why? Do you know? Maybe, maybe not.

Whether you know why you are here or not, one thing is clear: you are here for a reason. You are here to write your own statement, to write your own book (one page at a time), to live your life on your own terms, to challenge the status quo, to change things, to touch people.

To touch others, you must first touch yourself. You must be comfortable with yourself. Anne Morrow Lindbergh said, “When one is a stranger to oneself then one is estranged from others too. If one is out of touch with oneself, then one cannot touch others.” Before you can do, you must first be.

“The most exhausting thing in life is being insincere.”- Anne Morrow Lindberg

If you are out of touch with yourself, you are out of touch with other people. You are out of touch with your inner self. And you are out of touch with the world around you. No matter how things are in your life, always be honest with yourself, especially your inner world, your inner life, your soul.

Richard Bach said, “Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself. Being true to anyone else or anything else is not impossible, but the mark of a fake messiah.”

Whether you are where you are supposed to be or not, you should never forget to be true to yourself. Whatever you are going through right now, if you are honest with yourself, if you are true to yourself, you can handle it.

Whether the day is dark or not, whether the road ahead is foggy or not, whether the sun is shinning or not, always be true to yourself. Always do what is right. Always focus on what is there, not what is not there.

That is your only obligation on this earth: to be true to yourself.
