How Do You Perceive Yourself?

“How you perceive yourself is how the others will see you.”– Paul Arden

You will receive what you give out. If you don’t feel good about yourself, that is exactly how the world will see you. But why are you not feeling good about yourself? Are you thinking others are better than you, or are thinking you are not where you supposed to be?

No one is better than you. You are who you are. You are where you are supposed to be right now. The opportunity you are looking for is right where you are. But if you don’t feel good about yourself, you will struggle to get things done.

You are unique. Don’t worry about what others are thinking of you. It is your duty to take care of yourself. It is not selfish to do that. If you don’t value yourself, no one will value you. When you value yourself, according to John C. Parkin, “What tends to happen is that the more you value yourself, the more the rest of the world will tend to agree and value you as well.” When you value yourself, people will value you. It is your responsibility to value your life. Are you willing and ready to do that?

The Best Gift You Can Give Yourself

It is easier to be someone you are not than to be your real self. You can’t be your real self if you are not true to yourself. You can’t connect with your real self if you don’t know yourself. Don’t hide who you are. Be proud of who you really are. Don’t waste your time trying to be something different. The more you do that, the more you are moving away from your real self. To connect with your inner self, you must be yourself.

It is easier to get what you want if you know yourself. If you don’t know yourself, if you are not true to yourself, if you are not your real self, you can’t pursue your dreams. Even if you pretend to do something to better your life, you will end doing the wrong thing. According to Margaret Young, “… you must first be who you really are, then, do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.” In order to get what you have been fighting for, you must first be who you really are. If not, you are in for a long walk.
