‘Live in accordance with your outside world and you’ll soon find misery. Live accordance with your inside world and you’ll soon find happiness.’– Steven Bartlett
Remember that ‘you are the power in your world.’ That is, you are in charge of your world.
You are in charge of your thoughts. You are in charge of your actions. And you are in charge of your happiness.
If you want to be happy, do not seek happiness. If you want to be happy, don’t believe who people say they are. If you want to find your own true happiness, you must be comfortable with who you are.
Live your life. Do not worry about what you see out there. Why is that? Because people don’t really tell you who they are.
We are human beings. We like to show other people our strengths, not our weaknesses. We like to show other people our successes, not our failures.
When people show you what they have, celebrate with them. Do not envy them. Envy is evil. It is not good for you. It is not good for your own growth.
Be happy with your life. Be grateful for what you have. When you are grateful for what you have, more will come to you.
More will come to you when you pay attention to what is in front of you. More will come to you when you celebrate what you have. And more will come to you when you are who you are.
If you want to find your own happiness, real happiness, you must ‘live accordance with your inside world.’
Don’t be against yourself. If you are not for yourself, no one is going to be for you. Remember that your life is about you, not about others.
If you cannot motivate yourself, if you can’t inspire yourself, no one is going to motivate you, no one is going to inspire you.
What you can’t do for yourself, no one can do it for you. If you want to motivate yourself, how is how:
Failure is an opportunity to learn
‘Failure is an opportunity to provide great customer service.’– Andy Ellis
When you fail at something, you are not a failure. You are a learner. Failure is not about you. You are just trying to learn something. You are not a failure. Never call yourself a failure. Nothing happens without first screwing it up. If you want to grow, if you want to get better at what you do, all you need to do is to find the courage to embrace failure. Remember, if you are not failing, you are playing it too safe. If you are not failing, you are not risking enough. To grow, you must take risks.
Do not blame other people for your mistakes
‘When mistakes happen, don’t waste energy blaming people; invest energy in building better systems.’– Andy Ellis
When you make a mistake, don’t blame other people for your mistake. Mistake is not about you. It is about your curiosity. It is about your education, about your learning. When you make a mistake, it shows that you are getting things done, that you are trying to get better at what you are doing. If you are not screwing up, you are not doing enough. You are too scared to even get out of your comfort zone. Look, whether you want to hear it or not, you are done with your comfort zone. If you want to be successful, you must get out of your comfort zone.
Retain the confidence of the new learner
‘Retain the confidence of the new learner, and temper it with the caution of the old hand.’– Andy Ellis
Life is about learning. If you want to add value to your life, if you want to add value to the lives of those around you, if you want to change the world around you, you must ‘retain the confidence of the learner’. When it comes to success, learning is everything. If you are not learning, you are unlearning. If you want to grow, just keep learning. You must never stop learning about life. Learning is good for your life. It takes you to a whole new world. If you want to be better than your old self, you must embrace learning.
Don’t forget your blessings
‘Your blessings exist only if you remember to count them.’– Andy Ellis
Appreciate your life. You have a lot to be grateful for. You have so many things to celebrate. You are not happy because you have forgotten what the Lord has done for you. Before you start complaining about everything, rememebr this: ‘It is a gift just to be alive.’ Your life is not a mistake. You are here to make a difference. If you don’t appreciate what you have, you are not going to be happy with your life. And you will find it really hard to attract good things to you. If you want more things, you must first appreciate what you already have.
