When Your Ego Is In Charge

You are where you are because your ego wants you to be there. You hate where you are. You don’t want to be there, but your ego says, ‘It is the best place for you.’

The question is, ‘Is where you are the best place for you? Is it making you happy? Are you getting what you want? Are you growing? Are you adding value to your life? Are you adding value to other people? Are you expanding your social connections?

Are you in charge of your life? If things are not going well, you can make things better. If you are struggling to find your voice, you can find your voice. If you are not where you are supposed to be, just know that you are making progress.

Do not forget that great things take time. If you want to achieve great things, you have got to be patient with yourself.

Your ego is there to protect you. But if you don’t act, if you don’t question what you are doing, if you are not doing what you think you should be doing, your ego is going to run wide. You will never know what is going on in your world. Why is that? Because your ego wants you to live in the same place. Your ego wants you to be safe, to play a safe game. Your ego wants you to believe that you are the smartest in the world, that no one is smarter than you, that you know everything, that you don’t need to ask for help.

Don’t let your ego be the boss. If you want to win in your life, you must be the boss, your own boss. How do you do that? You start by taking your life into your hands.

If you are not comfortable with something, do not tolerate it. Question it. If you are scared of doing something, ask yourself why you are feeling the way you are feeling. Don’t settle for small things.

Whatever it is that you want to achieve in your life, you can make it happen. The question is, ‘Who is in charge of your life? Ego? Or you?

When Things Are Tough, Always Remember This

‘The crossroads and challenges will always show up, but remember why you started what you started, and never forget who you are.’- Bola Sokunbi

No matter what you are doing, ‘the crossroads and challenges will always show up.’ When they do, do not give up.

When things are not going well, when you do not know who you are, when you can’t seem to figure things out, never forget why you are doing what you are doing.

When people are giving up, you just keep going. Even when you are just running around in circles, do not forget where you are going.

Do not forget your why. If you do not know why you are doing something, then why are you doing it? Why are you in it?
