4 Ways To Live A Happier Life

The happiness of one’s own heart alone cannot satisfy the soul, one must try it include, as necessary to one’s own happiness, the happiness of others.”- Paramahansa Yogananda

Happiness is not what you keep; it is what you give to other people. When it comes to your own happiness, you are responsible for making yourself happy. Happiness is a make-it-yourself business. Remember, you cannot find happiness by doing the wrong things. You cannot find happiness by thinking the wrong thoughts. If you want to find your own happiness, you must think well.

To live a happier life, here are some strategies for you:

Believe in the glory of God

When you believe in the glory of God, nothing can touch you. If you are going to reach your highest potential in your life, you have got to believe in the glory of God. Charles Spurgeon said, “Nothing is able to damage the glory of God.” If nothing can damage the glory of God, nothing can damage you.

Focus on what you have

You cannot find happiness if you do not focus on what makes you really happy. Wealth comes from enjoying what you have. Wealth doesn’t come from chasing what you don’t have. It is what you have right now that is going to make you really happy.

You cannot see what you have if you do not focus on it. In the words of Charles Spurgeon, “It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.” You can make space for happiness by enjoying what you have.

Do not forget to love yourself

Even if you don’t focus on what you have, even if you don’t slow down to enjoy what you have, but do not forget to love yourself, to give yourself true love. Soren Kierkegaard said, “Above all do not forget your duty to love yourself.” Do not let the fear of other people’s opinions of you stop you from loving yourself. If you cannot love yourself, no one can love you.

Be patient with yourself

Be patient with yourself. Slow down to enjoy the good life. Stop running. Life is not about running; it is about you. It is about spending time with yourself. It is about listening to your inner voice. Soren Kierkegaard said, “Most men pursue pleasure with such breathless haste that they hurry past it.” Carl Rogers said, “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.” Do you agree with Carl Rogers?

What Really Matters Is What You Say About Yourself

Look, what really matters in your life is not what other people are saying about you; it is what you are saying to yourself. Do not worry about other people, worry about yourself. Because if you really want to live your life, if you want to be successful in your life, if you want to get ahead in life, you must live your own life. Do not worry about other people’s opinions of you. You are who you are. You are not other people’s opinions. Look, opinions are just opinions. Nothing more, nothing less.

“We each have an awesome uniqueness within us, and we could probably use those individual traits to benefit ourselves and others.”- Humble the Poet

Instead of trying to be who you are not, why not run your own race, why not do your own thing, why not believe in yourself, why not ignore naysayers, why not connect with your inner soul, why not ignore what other say about you? Why not?

Why not restart your car, why not retake your exam, why not apologize to your friend, why not live your life? No matter where you are, do not settle for less. Because God created you for greatness. The question is, have you prepared yourself for greatness?

Are you willing to transform your life? If you are willing and ready to do it, now is the right time. Let us do it!
