The Necessary Ingredients Of happiness

“One is happy as a result of one’s own efforts, once one knows the necessary ingredients of happiness- simple tastes, a certain degree of courage, self-denial to a point, love of work, and, above all, a clear conscience.”- George Sand, poet

You are the maker of your own happiness. You are responsible for your own happiness. It does not come from outside. Your happiness is within you. According to James Allen, “A man is happy, wise and great in the measure that he controls himself; he is wretched, foolish, and mean in the measure that he allows his animal nature to dominate his thoughts and actions.”

Happiness comes from the right thoughts and actions. It does not come from the wrong thoughts and actions. If you want to make yourself happier, you must direct your thoughts.

You Are Not A Failure

You can do your best. Whatever you do, always do your best. William Walker Atkinson said, “The man who does his best is never a failure. He is always a success, and if the best should be but a poor pretty things, still the world will place the laurel wreath of victory upon his brown when he accomplishes it. The one who does his best is never a ‘quitter’, or a ‘shirker’– he stays right on his job until he has bestowed upon it the very best that there is in him to give at that particular time. Such a man can never be failure.”
