To Know Others, You Must First Know Yourself

‘Knowing ourselves thoroughly is how we clean our lens, and when we clean the lens that is the self, we’re ready to receive everything that is beyond us.’- Mark Nepo

If you want to know the world, if you truly want to experience the world around you, you must first know who you, where you are, what you want, and where you are going.

‘Look with love’, not hate. Mark writes, ‘Our best chance to find the Oneness of Life is by looking with love into everything and everyone we meet.’

When you meet people, to know them really well, do not judge them. Instead of judging them, try to know them. To do that, you must first know yourself.

Say yes to yourself. Say yes to your life. When you say yes to your life, you are receating your life. According to Mark Nepo, ‘Looking with love is a form of saying yes. We give give birth to everything we look at with love, including our own soul.’

If you want to be successful in your life, in your career, and in your relationships, you must look at them with love. Why is that? Because love is life. Love is light.

Remember, where there is light, darkness disappears. When you look at yourself with love, fear disappears.

3 Disadvantages Of Accepting Yourself Unconditionally

‘Accepting yourself unconditionally does not have to mean that you become arrogant.’- David Bonham-Carter

It means you are okay with who you are, no matter what.

When you accept yourself for who you are, you must watch out for these things:

‘You may lose some of your drive because you feel you don’t have to prove yourself so much.’- David Bonham-Carter

You do not have to prove yourself to other people. But if you want to achieve success in your life, always prove yourself to yourself.

‘You may become lazier.’- David Bonham-Carter

If you are tired, don’t stop, keep going.

‘You may become inconsiderate or disrespectful of others if you go to the extreme of not valuing the opinions of others at all or thinking that you are completely self-sufficient.’- David Bonham Carter

It is okay to love yourself, to accept yourself, but do not forget the people around you. They are human beings. They matter. Remember that.
