Why People Resist Being Changed

Life requires change. If you are not changing, you are dying slowly. If you want to make change possible, according to Peter Bregman, ‘

‘No matter your position or power in the relationship, asking permission is the key first move to becoming an ally with the person you’re wanting to help change.’

Change is hard. It is not easy. But if you want to make it happen, don’t do it to people.

‘Don’t be in a rush for someone to change.’ People need time to do things, change included. If you want them to change, you must give them time to decide.

‘Remember, people don’t resist change; they resist being changed.’

Do You Really Know Where You Want To Be In The Future?

‘You need to truly know where you want to be in the future, and then surround yourself with the type of people who have been there or are on a similar path.’- Mick Spencer

When it comes to your success, it is about where you are, what you are doing right now, and where you want to be in your future.

Is it going to be easy? No, it is not going to be easy. But it is better to know where you are going, what you want, and those around you.

The people in your life matter. They are important. Because success is not a solo show. It is more than what you know. It is more than you.

Why is that? Because you don’t know everything. We can’t do it all. If you want to succeed, you need to reach out to people who have been there, who have done it.

Remember, nothing is new. What you are trying to achieve, what is new to you, someone has done it before. So don’t try to recreate what is already out there.

That is not to say that you should abandon your own thinking. If you are not thinking, you are not helping yourself. You must do your own thinking. You must put yourself in a place where positive thinking is encouraged.

Yes, you are smart. But don’t forget that ‘No-one gets there on their own.’ So if you want to succeed in your life, if you want to improve your life, you need other people.
