Benjamin Creme said, “No one can lead you. You are born to be aware of yourself, to know the Master in yourself.” Why are you not comfortable with yourself? Why are you not happy with your life? The answer is simple: because you are not “aware of yourself.” And to be comfortable with yourself, you must know who you are. Do not try to be like another person.

You are not born to imitate other people. You are here on this earth to make your own statement. No matter how you look, to know who you are, you must be aware of yourself. Because no one knows you more than you know yourself. Do not get busy try to defeat another person. Instead, why not focus on making yourself better than you were yesterday? Do not imitate anybody. You have what it takes to do what you are put here to do. According to Benjamin Creme, “If you follow others instead of being yourself, you lose your sparkle and cannot reflect the light of individuality. Without that light, there is no progress in life.” So if you want to reinvent your life, you must follow yourself, not other people.

No matter what is going on in your life, you must stay true to yourself. Even if people don’t believe in you, you must believe in yourself. Even if people don’t believe in your dreams, you must believe in your dreams. You must do whatever you can to connect with yourself. Why is that? Because, according to Pearl Bailey, “You never find yourself until you face the truth.” You will never find your true self until you connect with your real self.

If you really want to stay true to yourself, why not try these strategies:

You must understand who you are

There is nothing you cannot achieve in life if you are true to yourself. The worst thing you can do to yourself is to cheat yourself. Do not cheat your life. Even if no one is watching you, but you are watching yourself. According to Soren Kierkegaard, “Not until a person has inwardly understood himself and then sees the course he is to take does his life gain peace and meaning.” If you do not understand yourself, you really can’t pursue your purpose in life.

You must NOT deceive yourself

You can deceive other people, but you can’t deceive yourself. No matter what you are going through in your life, you must not cheat yourself. Be true to yourself. You are where you are for a reason. Whether people like where you are or not, don’t worry about it. Focus on where you are going. That is what matters. Charles Spurgeon once said, “Beware of no man more than of yourself; we carry our worst enemies within us.”

You must study your own heart

Follow your heart. If you want to know what is going on in your heart, you must study it. If you want to know what is going on around you, you must study your own heart. Because there is nothing you cannot change if you have the courage to change what goes into your mind. According to Charles Spurgeon, “If a person doesn’t study the human heart, he cannot be a wise person.” So if you want to stay true to yourself, you must study your own heart.

You must “follow the voice of your heart”

You can. You will. And you must “follow the voice of your heart.” It is not easy, but you can do it. It is important to follow what you know than what you don’t know. You know yourself. You know what you want. You know what you want for yourself. Then what are you still waiting for? If you want to grow, if you want to do well in your life, you must grow the courage to “follow the voice of your heart.” Wilhelm Reich said, “Follow the voice of your heart, even if it leads you off the path of timid souls. Do not become hard and embittered, even if life tortures you at times. There is only one thing that counts: to live one’s life well and happily.”

You must “see yourself as you really are”

To stay true to yourself is to have the courage to be comfortable with yourself. Do not fear yourself. You are a great person. No matter where you are in your life, you are there for a reason. Do not rush. Your time is coming. If you want to achieve success, you must have the courage to look at yourself. You must have the courage to love yourself. You must have the courage to live your life.
