Difficult Times

Difficult times are not difficult times, they are learning times. They are growing times. It is the time we look inside for answers to our problems.

Difficult times are not here to destroy us. They are part of who we are; they make us stronger than ever. If you handle difficult times well, you will never be the same again. Many of us are terrible at managing difficult times. Instead of putting our heads together to find solutions to what we are going through, we make it even more difficult for ourselves. We stop eating. We stop meeting friends. We stop talking to people. We stop listening to ourselves. We stop sleeping. We turn to drugs and alcohol (not everybody), we stop reading. We stop doing the basics that make life interesting.

Difficult times are builders, not destroyers. They are your builders if you handle them well, if you manage them well. On the other hand, difficult times are your destroyers if you manage them poorly.

To manage difficult times well, you must first understand what you are dealing with. The more you understand what you are dealing with, the better it is for you to deal with. It is all about understanding. If you want to know something better, try to understand it.

Before you freak out, try to understand what you are going through.

Think of the beauty that still remains

No matter what is going on in your life, you still have a lot to celebrate. You still have lots of things that are going well for you. Focus on what is working well for you. Don’t waste your time dwelling on what happened yesterday. Focus on what is happening now. Yesterday is gone. Today is present. It is all you have, so don’t let it slip away.

We are human beings. We cannot live without problems, difficulties, adversity, disappointments, or failures. We cannot. We have to live with it. If you keep worrying about the terrible things that have happened to you in the past, you are wasting your precious gold: TIME.

Please, don’t let your past mistakes ruin your GOLDEN today. The opportunity that you have been waiting for is in today. If you fail to focus on today, you will miss it. One thing is clear: bad things will always happen to us. The difference will be how we handle them. When you are going through hell, keep going. There is opportunity in hell. Be the first to get it. In other words, when things are not going well for you right now, yes, right now, focus on what is working well for you. It is not what happened to us that matters, it is how we handle it that matters. No matter what, you are not alone, and you will never be alone.

Always maintain a positive attitude. Always think of the positive things in your life. Think also of the negative things, but don’t allow them to take over your mind. Be careful. Whatever you think about every day, you will become. Learn from negative experiences, and move on. Anne Frank famously said, “Think of all the beauty that still left around you and be happy.”

Think of all the beauty in your life and be happy.
