Is Hard Work Enough?

I don’t know. Maybe you can help me out. Work or no work, life continues. But to where? What do you think is going to happen to that future that you never stop talking about?

If it is about talk, just talk, you have not started. You are still sleeping.

If you are still in bed, when are you going to get up? When are you going to say enough is enough? When are you going to get back to your work, yes, to your work?

When are you going to do what you have been avoiding? What you don’t want to do, other people are doing it. They are working. They are making. They are creating?

What about you? Are you working hard? Are you working smart? Are you doing the talking? If you are tired of complaining, then stop talking. Then get to work.

Talk is not going to do it for you. The only thing that can make you come alive again is work. Not terrible work. But you must do something to get something. My friends, let us not fool ourselves. A bad job is better than no job. Why is that?

Because work is prayer. Even if the job you are doing now is not making you happy, don’t throw it away. The more you do it, the more you are praying for a better one. If you are not working, you are not praying. To get what you want, get to work. Why? Because work is prayer.

Wake Up!!!

If you want to change yourself, to improve your life, you have got to wake up. Stop sleeping. Stop wasting your time. If not, nothing is going to change.

In his book Wise as Fu*k: Simple Truths to Guide You Through the Sh*tstorms of Life, Gary John Bishop writes, ‘Wake yourself up to what’s important, to what actually matters in this life. Set aside your fears and failures, stop obsessing over gaining success or avoiding pain, and finally show up as the kind of human being you have always wanted to be. Not only to make a difference but to be that difference so that all people are impacted.’

If you think you have not been doing enough, it is never too late. Now is the time to challenge yourself, to give yourself a new plan, a new map, a new assignment. Now is the time to step up, to wake up, and to show up. Don’t give in to fear. And do not let your past failures and mistakes stand between you and your life, your success.

Remember, ‘Success breeds success.’ If you want to be successful, you must show up.
