Why Self-Discipline Is Important

‘In the absence of disciplined focus, we become strangely loyal to performing daily acts of trivia.’- Rory Vaden

Discipline is not easy, but you need to cultivate it. Without it, you are not going to get anything done.

Do not focus on trivia things. Nothing is easy. Great things are not easy.

If you are not willing to discipline yourself to change your life, if you are not willing to take yourself to where you want to be, you are not going to grow.

Do not give in to fear. Do not give up on your dreams. Do not waste your time on worthless things. If you do not give up, if you discipline yourself, growth is likely to happen in your life.

Whatever you are doing, always ask yourself, ‘Why?’

The Power Of Self-Discipline

The difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is self-discipline. Successful people do what unsuccessful people don’t do. Success doesn’t come from putting things off. Success comes from doing what you are supposed to do, when you are supposed to do it. Successful people are not smarter than you, but they are willing and ready to do whatever it takes to succeed. They have decided that no matter what happens, they are not going to quit, they are not going to give up. That is the problem with the rest of us: we give up too soon. We surrender to fear before we even get to where we are going.

If you want to succeed in life, in your career, you must stay in the game of life. Tell yourself, “I don’t care what it takes, I am not going to give up until I succeed.” That is what you should be telling yourself every day. When things are not going your way, tell yourself, “I am not giving up. I will continue until I succeed.” When things are going your way, keep working, keep mastering your work, keep getting good at what you do. Do not let fear stop you from doing your best work, from living your best life.

It takes discipline to get things done. If you can discipline yourself, you can win. According to Brian Tracy, “Every time you practice self-discipline, your self-esteem goes up. You like and respect yourself even more. And the more you practice discipline in small things, the more capable you become of great discipline required for great opportunities, experiences, and challenges of life.” If you want to win, self-discipline is the way.
