Before You Give Up, Look Around Where You Are

“What will become a man when he gives up self?“- Swami Paramananda

You must protect your future by being decisive. We do our best work when we are decisive. We do our worst work when we are indecisive. Life is full of difficulties. Whatever you are going through right now, don’t give up. Fight with it until you have learned something from it.

Do not ignore where you are. You are there for a purpose. Before you give up on yourself, before you give up on your dreams, before you start chasing a new position, before you start looking for the best place to stay, look around you. See if what you are looking for is right where you are. Look for the reason to stay there. Look for opportunities, not excuses. As Martha Graham once said, “Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do what they want to, when all they need is one reason why they can.” Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, do not look for excuses to leave, look for reasons to stay.

What Do You Have To Offer In Return?

“To practice means to perform, in the face of all obstacles some act of vision, of faith, of desire.”- Martha Graham

You want to be successful. You want to change your life. You want to live a great life. You want to run a successful business. You want to marry the best person in the world. It sounds good. It feels good. But what do you have to offer in return? Are you willing to pay the price? Have you prepared? If you haven’t prepared enough, do not even think about it. If you know you have what it takes to do whatever it is you want to do, then go for it.
