How You Can Make Things Happen

If you want to make things happen, you must stop making excuses.

‘There are all kinds of excuses and situations for not getting shit done, and sometimes all it takes is recognizing that situation or excuse so that you can do something about it.’– Jeffrey Gitomer

If you are seeking excuses, there are no shortage of them. They are everywhere. But if you want to get things done in your life, you don’t need excuses. You need actions, not excuses.

Put yourself together.

‘If you want to get shit done, FIRST you have to put your shit together.’– Jeffrey Gitomer

You will get a lot done if you can focus on what you are doing. Do not worry about other people. Instead of worrying about other people, why not worry about how you are going to put yourself together.

Putting yourself together means focus. It means taking one step at a time. And it means living your own life.

If you want to get things done, you must put yourself together. You must put your thoughts together. You must your actions together. And you must surround yourself with people who want you to succeed in your life.

It is not enough to dream. You must take action.

Each of you has some dream of what you would like to become, who you want to become, and what you want to achieve. The reality is that without an ability to take action, those thoughts and dreams stay stuck in your mind. They are known as pipe-dreams.’– Jeffrey Gitomer

Nothing good comes easy. If you want to achieve anything in your life, you must get uncomfortable. You must face your journey. You are the only one who can do that. If you are not willing to take action to change your life, who do you think is going to do it for you?

Remember, when it comes to success, now is the right time to take a leap of faith.

Take charge of your life.

Responsibility is not given … it is taken!.’– Jeffrey Gitomer

Nothing is going to get done if you don’t take responsibility for making it happen. No one is going to make it happen for you. If you do not have the courage to face your journey, you must ask for help.

Do what you love.

‘The more you ‘don’t like it’ the more you procrastinate.’- Jeffrey Gitomer

Doing what you love is not going to come easy, but do it anyway. If you do not do what you love, success is unlikely to happen.

Why is that? Because you are not happy. You are just doing it for the sake of doing it. You are not enjoying it. You are not learning from it.

Above all, you are not mentally present. Do not put yourself in such a situation. It is not good for your health.

How To Create Meaning In Your Life

If you want to create meaning in your life, you must pursue something bigger than you.

‘Be careful that your ‘there’ is not created by someone else or some external force, such as Facebook. Your ‘there’ can, and often should, be constantly moving as your experiences, successes, and perspective change. Our bar may well become higher and higher as we journey through life.’- Alan Weiss and Marshall Goldsmith

Nothing stays the same, not even you. If you are not changing, then something is not right.

You must rethink your life. And you must change how you do your things, how you live your life, and the people around you.

Why is that? If you do not change how you see yourself, nothing is going to change. Remember that change is an internal business.

If you want to create meaning in your life, you must invest your time and money wisely.

‘We all have time and money, but the key differentiator is where we invest them. That means we don’t have to gather more resources, but instead change our priorities as our conditions change.’– Alan Weiss and Marshall Goldsmith

Put your resources where your thoughts are. Do not just do something. If you don’t know why you are doing something, you are wasting your time. And know when to change.

If something is not working for you, do not keep it. Let it go. If you keep it, it is only going to work against you.

If you want to create meaning in your life, you must help yourself first.

‘You can’t help others fully unless you’re helping yourself first, which is why airlines tell you to put the oxygen mask on first before attempting to help others.’– Alan Weiss and Marshall Goldsmith

Do what you can, not what you can’t. Do not try to give out what you do not have. To create a meaningful life for yourself, you must help yourself first. Don’t ignore other people, but do not promise what you can’t do.

If you want to create meaning in your life, you must know why you are good.

‘It’s better to know why we’re good than that we’re good.’– Alan Weiss and Marshall Goldsmith

Before you do anything, always make sure you know why you are doing it. Why you are doing something is more important than what you are doing.

Everything is about why you are doing it. If you do not know why you are doing something, then don’t do it. It won’t help you.
