Break from the past

To move forward in life, to grow, to be successful, to enjoy your life, to build positive relationships with people, you must separate yourself from your past failures, mistakes, or disappointments.

We all have past experiences that we don’t even want to remember. We don’t want to remember them because they hurt. But we cannot live without our history. It is okay to remember your past mistakes, but it is not okay to let them ruin your present. Your past mistakes are great ways to learn the great lessons of life. You cannot correct what happened in the past, but you can correct what will happen in the future.

You cannot move forward in life when the past is still hurting you. If you want to move on in life, you must separate yourself from the past. Separating yourself from the past doesn’t mean you should forget the past. You should not forget the past, but learn from the past to know why you are where you are today. You cannot forget the past. No one ever will. The only way to forget the past is to stop living.

Respect your past, learn from it, and move on.

The final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands

You build your character by what you do every day. You build your character by how you handle the things that happen to you in life. Your character is who you are. You can have everything on earth, but if you lack character, you have lost everything. Your character is your foundation upon which everything is built. If you lack character, everything will collapse.

Your character is how you treat people, how you handle things, how you carry yourself, and how you view the world.

Let us look at what great minds have said about character. Anne Frank said, “Parent can only give advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.” Be careful what you do every day, because whether you know it or not, you are building your own character. Jim Rohn said, “Character is built by how you respond to what happens in your life- whether it’s winning every game, losing every game, getting rich or dealing with hard times.” It does not matter what you are responding to, if you don’t respond well, you are building your own character. If you treat people in a terrible way, you are building your own character.

If you want to have a great character, always do the right thing. When you act right, you will live right. When you act wrong, you will live wrong.

Your character is you. You are your character. Don’t joke with it!
