“Never compare yourself or your achievements with others, but make your comparison only with yourself.”- Norman Vincent Peale

You are a painter. Paint your own life. If you want a better future for yourself, paint it now. Comparing yourself to other people is like painting a different life. The way you see yourself is more important than anything else in your life. Don’t paint yourself with a negative brush. No matter what, take time to celebrate your life. If you want to live a great life, you must paint your own image. Because it is important.

It Does Not Matter Who Is Ahead At One Time Or Another

In the words of Harry S. Truman, “It isn’t important who is ahead at one time or another in either an election or horse race. It’s the horse that comes in first at the finish line that counts.” What a powerful quote!

If you want to win in life, run your own race. Running because other people are running is not the best way to win in life. You are your own self. Your purpose in life is different. You are here to live, not compare yourself to other people.

It does not matter who is ahead at one time or another. What really matters is what you are doing. If you focus on why you are here on this earth, you will win. Remember, it is never too late to follow your path. It is not how you start that matters, but how you finish.

Whatever you are doing, all you need to do is focus on why you are doing it. Even if other people don’t like it, if you like it, if you know why you are doing it, that is good enough. That is all you need to complete your race.

Life is not about comparison; it is about living your own life. According to Theodore Roosevelt, “Comparison is the thief of joy.” Don’t compare yourself to other people. Why? Because they are not perfect. They have their own problems to worry about. Don’t ever think you are the only person with multiple problems. You are not.

Before you start comparing yourself to other people, ask yourself this question: Why am I comparing myself to other people? Are we pursuing the same thing? Are they living my life? If not, stop comparing yourself to others. Always compare yourself to yourself.

If you want to make yourself unhappy, compare yourself to others. If you want to make yourself happy, compare yourself to yourself.
