‘Halfhearted attempts to change not only end in disappointment- they can poison the well of motivation for future attempts.’- Allan Zuckoff
Change is your business. It starts with you. When you are willing to change, change is possible.
When you are not willing to change, change is difficult.
Whether it is easy or difficult, if you want to get to where you want to be, change is the key.
Without change, nothing is going to happen. Before you start your change process, you must ask yourself, ‘What does change mean to me? Why am I doing this? Is it the right time for me to change? Why now? What is missing? Am I doing it for the right reason? Or am I doing it for other people?
Look, if you don’t know why you are doing what you are doing, you are not going to get to the end. You are going to get frustrated when the going gets really tough. You are not going to be happy with yourself. Why? Because you think you are just wasting your time. No matter what you do, it is very exhausting when you are not enjoying it.
When it comes to change, it is important. It is hard. It is not easy. If you are serious about it, you are going to have to be patient with yourself.
Change is an internal business. It is lonely. People don’t know what is going on within you.
You are going to be alone. It is a lonely process. It is lonely because no one can feel what you are feeling. No one can do what you are doing. No one can see what you are thinking. No one can see where you are going. That is what makes change really hard.
And that is why you should never take on change when you are not ready. Change is good, but it has to make sense to you. If not, it is a waste of time.
