‘By thinking in terms of the activities that you really want to be doing, you can identify the small steps you need to take to realize ME+.’
‘You will progress faster if you meet people outside your normal circles.’
‘It is essential to make your progress salient by auditing the activities you are doing and the milestones you are reaching’
‘To begin creating your own carrots and sticks, ask yourself this one question: ‘How can I lower the immediate costs and increase the immediate benefits of the small steps I need to take?’
‘It is okay to quit if there is an intention to do something much more worthwhile.’
‘It is important that you judge your progress by the quality of your decision-making, as opposed to the quality of your outcomes.’
‘One of the easiest ways to grow quickly is to get feedback from people with diverse backgrounds and life experiences.’
‘We don’t ask for help often enough, even when we really need it.’
‘It is your responsibility to seek feedback regularly and with a specific agenda.’
‘Thinking big and designing a plan to get there is something that you get to do rather than have to do.’
‘You will draw less on your own resilience reserves if you focus on your absolute progress, and avoid comparisons with others.’
If you want to make things happen, you must stop making excuses.
‘There are all kinds of excuses and situations for not getting shit done, and sometimes all it takes is recognizing that situation or excuse so that you can do something about it.’– Jeffrey Gitomer
If you are seeking excuses, there are no shortage of them. They are everywhere. But if you want to get things done in your life, you don’t need excuses. You need actions, not excuses.
Put yourself together.
‘If you want to get shit done, FIRST you have to put your shit together.’– Jeffrey Gitomer
You will get a lot done if you can focus on what you are doing. Do not worry about other people. Instead of worrying about other people, why not worry about how you are going to put yourself together.
Putting yourself together means focus. It means taking one step at a time. And it means living your own life.
If you want to get things done, you must put yourself together. You must put your thoughts together. You must your actions together. And you must surround yourself with people who want you to succeed in your life.
It is not enough to dream. You must take action.
‘Each of you has some dream of what you would like to become, who you want to become, and what you want to achieve. The reality is that without an ability to take action, those thoughts and dreams stay stuck in your mind. They are known as pipe-dreams.’– Jeffrey Gitomer
Nothing good comes easy. If you want to achieve anything in your life, you must get uncomfortable. You must face your journey. You are the only one who can do that. If you are not willing to take action to change your life, who do you think is going to do it for you?
Remember, when it comes to success, now is the right time to take a leap of faith.
Take charge of your life.
‘Responsibility is not given … it is taken!.’– Jeffrey Gitomer
Nothing is going to get done if you don’t take responsibility for making it happen. No one is going to make it happen for you. If you do not have the courage to face your journey, you must ask for help.
Do what you love.
‘The more you ‘don’t like it’ the more you procrastinate.’- Jeffrey Gitomer
Doing what you love is not going to come easy, but do it anyway. If you do not do what you love, success is unlikely to happen.
Why is that? Because you are not happy. You are just doing it for the sake of doing it. You are not enjoying it. You are not learning from it.
Above all, you are not mentally present. Do not put yourself in such a situation. It is not good for your health.
